Faisalabad, March 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):Society of Textile Spinners 2021-2022 arranged an industrial tour of 3rd year YM Students to Nishat Mills Limited on February 19, 2022. Seniors and Staff of Nishat Mills warmly welcomed the students. Students were given a short introduction and then were shown all the departments of the Mill.

This visit was very fruitful for the students. After the visit, lunch was served to all the students. Society of Textile Spinners is very obliged to the management of Nishat Mills Limited for showing such a positive behavior for the students of NTU.

Faisalabad, March 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):Dr. Khubab Shaker (Chairman DoM) and Dr. Yasir Nawab (Dean SET) published a book titled “Lignocellulosic Fibers: Sustainable Biomaterials for Green Composites” with Springer Nature. This book introduces and discusses different potential natural-fiber reinforcements for green bio-composites. It also looks at various sustainable fiber sources available from, e.g., fruit, seeds, and agricultural waste. Furthermore, it explores new natural fibers extracted from plant waste for use as value-added products.

Faisalabad, March 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):School of Engineering and Technology (SET) participated in GTEX Exhibition held at Lahore from 5-7 March 2022. GTEX is the regions’ largest and most successful technology exhibition with extensive response covering the complete range of textile machinery including garment, embroidery, and others. Dr. Sharjeel Abid, from the Department of Textile Engineering (Textile Processing section), was the resource person to guide and provide details to the questioners.

Many technical persons from various industries and international exhibitors visited the NTU stall to discuss the projects and future collaborations. GCF and its impact were the most applauded aspects at the stall by the experts. Furthermore, the industrial focal persons showed keen interest in testing facilities offered by NTU.

Faisalabad, March 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):A meeting of TIAB-Processing was held at NTU on February 22, 2022 under the chair of Engr. Zeeshan Feroze Ghazi (TD Kamal Textile Mills). Engr. Junaid Babar, Engr. Jawad Shafiq, Engr. Haroon Ahmad, Dr. Munir Ashraf, Dr. Amjad Javid and Engr. Arbab attended the meeting. A comprehensive discussion was carried out in view of the previous minutes of meeting. New suggestions were also discussed to improve the quality of teaching and align the research as per market need.
