PM should beware of his advisers who are misleading and creating a gulf between him and the media: Ch Parvez Elahi

Lahore, March 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has said that I urge the Prime Minister to beware of his advisors who are misleading him and creating a gulf between him and the media. I have noted with deep concern the decision of PTI advising its members not to participate in programs of certain TV channels. It is indeed a decision that will deny the ruling party a balanced coverage of its policies and point of view.

Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said that the beauty of democracy lies in plurality of views. “I urge upon the Prime Minister and the PTI leadership to reconsider their decision,” he said. Chaudhry Parvez Elahi also expressed concern over the decision of federal government to cut back its advertisements to some newspapers and TV channels ostensibly for their perceived opposition to amendments in the PECA law through an ordinance.

He said that it is regrettable when media outlets are targeted for their editorial policies. Government advertising is public trust and should not be used as a tool to target some news outlets while giving undue benefit to others. “I am unable to understand why media outlets are being targeted when the Prime Minister has already assigned me the task to mediate with the media bodies on behalf of the government in order to resolve the thorny issue of PECA,” he concluded.

The puppet has to go so that free and transparent elections are held: Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Islamabad, March 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the dictator Zia ul Haq and his supporters hatched a conspiracy against PPP and after sending the Quaid-e-Awam to the gallows. They thought that the Party had been eliminated and no one would raise their voice for the rights of the people. That conspiracy was against the people, democracy, and federation.

Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto thwarted that conspiracy, came to Lahore in 1986 and started the revolt against dictator Zia. She kept fighting for democracy and the rights of the people. She clashed head-on with dictators Zia and Musharraf and also kept challenging the terrorists who wanted to destroy our country. She accepted martyrdom but never retreated from her manifesto, stance and ideology.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said this while addressing a huge, charged crowd in Lahore on Sunday afternoon. He said that the PPP continued the struggle of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and realized her dream of the 18th Amendment which gave all the provinces their rights. We gave the NFC to the provinces and made them the owners of their resources. Had there been no 18th Amendment, NFC or CPEC there would be no metro train in Lahore. He said that the PPP has a generations-long relation with this city. The puppet Imran has no future in the country, he will flee to London. I will be here with the people of Pakistan. How is it possible for me to leave when the poor labourers and farmers are being economically murdered? PPP has served the poor people.

The PPP has follows and implements the slogan of ‘Roti, Kapra aur Makaan’. Quaid-e-Awam gave the 5-marla scheme and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto gave the 7-marla scheme. We gave the right of ownership to the people living in slums. President Zardari introduced BISP so the poor women could be helped. He increased pensions by a 100% and salaries by 120%. 10000 employees of Pakistan Steel Mills have been rendered jobless due to the puppet and has tried to do the same with 16000 federal government employees. Despite being in the opposition, the PPP got these employees reinstated through the courts.

Chairman Bilawal appealed to the people of Lahore and Punjab to once again support the PPP so that it can serve the people and show how a government is run. The Jiyalas of Lahore are brave and loyal. They immolated themselves when Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was sent to the gallows. Lahore had a Jiyala like Jahangir Bader who raised the slogan of ‘Jeay Bhutto’ on every lash administered to him. The PPP is like a family. We want for the real representatives of the people to be elected.

The country is in a difficult situation. There is an economic crisis in the country and our foreign policy is confused. The Jiyalas saved Pakistan in the past and will do the same with me and Aseefa. We are struggling against this government to save democracy. We demand the right to rule, the right to ownership, the right to employment and the right to equality. Pakistan should be for every citizen, irrespective of the cast, colour, creed, sect etc.

To achieve these rights, free and transparent elections in the country are integral. For this to happen, it is vital for the puppet to go home. The people do not trust him and we will remove him when we reach Islamabad. After removing him, we will carry out electoral reforms so that free and fair elections are held. The PPP is the only party that can form an Awami government. This selected puppet has made a joke of politics and governance. He has made the foreign policy a joke.

No ministry is performing and he has given certificates to his ten miserably failing ministers. He has sent some such ministers to Sindh as well but they also fear the power of the Jiyalas. Every promise and slogan of this puppet proved to be a lie. This puppet has cheated the youth of this country the most. We will provide employment to the youth and will restore the students’ union so that the young people can decide their future themselves and become future leaders.

Imran came to power with Israeli and Indian funding: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Islamabad, March 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that Imran Khan talks about the Bambino Cinema Hall but does not know Asif Ali Zardari’s father, Hakim Ali Zardari owned it. Who is Imran Khan? He is the son of a father who was sacked for corruption. Corruption is in Imran Khan’s blood. He was funded by Israel and India. Imran is a liar who takes u-turns which is a symbol of a hypocrite. Imran’s house is run by his ATMs. He benefits his ATMs.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said this while addressing a huge crowd that had gathered to welcome the Awami long march at Gujranwala. Addressing the gathering, Chairman PPP said that this puppet says that the leaders take u-turns but he is a hypocrite and a liar. Leaders sacrifice their life but do not budge from their stance like Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. President Zardari remained imprisoned without any charges for over 11 years.

Imran Khan cannot stay in jail for even a week but now the time has come for him to be in jail. We have to send this selected and puppet to jail. Chairman PPP said that this is a long march of the party of martyrs and asked the crowd to join this march and head towards Islamabad. He said that this puppet has made the lives of the people hell and this march is on the streets to get rid of this usurper and tyrant. We have defeated dictators and this puppet cannot stand the wrath of Jiyalas. He is trembling as this march is nearing Islamabad. Imran snatched the houses of the poor and regularised his own mansion in Banigala.

Chairman PPP said that Imran Khan is destroying Pakistan and its economy. He wants to sour Pakistan and Europe’s relation and does not know that Pakistan has a huge trade with Europe. Hundreds of thousands of Pakistanis work there and send the most needed foreign remittances. He has soured our relations with China already and the work on CPEC has stalled in his government. We cannot tolerate this person anymore. Imran is the enemy of Pakistani people. He is destroying the Pakistani economy further in his last days in power. Time has come for the people to elect their own representative because this puppet cannot do anything except destroy our economy further.

Rana and Vastrakar make history for India against Pakistan

Dubai, March 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):Six follows seven and as Mithali Raj played in her sixth World Cup, two of her lower order put on a record seventh-wicket stand to defeat Pakistan.

When India fell to 114 for six with 16.5 overs still to go, Pakistan sensed the chance at a first World Cup victory over their arch rivals, and India’s choice to go with an extra bowler looked to be backfiring.

Enter Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar.

Rana had made a match-defining 80 in last year’s Test against England but had never scored more than 30 in a one-day game.

Vastrakar had a fifty to her name but something similar seemed unlikely with Pakistan’s bowlers well on top with all but Fatima Sana having taken a wicket.

The right-hander was not fazed as she struck the first boundary for 15.4 overs, a sign of what was to come as the next five overs all went for five runs or more.

But Rana and Vastrakar were only just getting going, as India reached 40 overs and 160 runs the next three overs all went for at least 10.

Vastrakar would then go down with what seemed to be an injury to her left leg, but it halted her progress only temporarily.

India’s 200 was brought up in the 46th over with Rana on 39 runs from 37 balls and Vastrakar producing a run-a-ball 44.

The 22-year-old then delivered an excellent paddle shot to send Anam Amin’s delivery to the short fine leg boundary.

The India fans in a sell-out crowd had been making their voices heard all afternoon but fell silent with Vastrakar just two runs short of a half-century.

A single was all that would come off the next ball but the cheers returned, with the India team joining in, as she brought up her fifty off 48 balls.

Two more runs off the next ball saw Vastrakar move past 51, setting a new high score in one-day internationals.

In doing so, she matched Rana who had already well-eclipsed her high score, moving to 41 when their 100 partnership was brought up off just 83 deliveries.

With 16 balls of the innings remaining Vastrakar was dropped on 55 from 51, Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof chasing it down at full tilt as the ball flew over her head, her outstretched hands not able to latch on.

Rana’s fifty came up off a poor length delivery from Diana Baig, which was made to hit to the boundary, Rana did just that to reach her half-century off 45 balls.

Vastrakar pulled out all the shots as the innings neared its end, a reverse scoop was played with her hand supporting the underside of the bat, before four more came off the very next ball.

Just as it looked like Vastrakar would end the innings not out, Sana got her first wicket.

The leg stump knocked clean over, not for the first time today, despite having made 67 from 59 balls Vastrakar swayed her bat in frustration.

Her mood may have been lightened as her teammates clapped her back to the dressing room, a reminder of the rescue effort Rana and herself had put in.

And while their backs-to-the-wall partnership came to an end, their achievement will live on, their partnership off 122 the highest-ever for the seventh wicket.

It eclipses Nicola Browne and Sarah Tsukigawa’s stand for New Zealand against England in 2007 and comfortably beats Katherine Brunt’s 85-run partnership with Jenny Gunn in 2017, the previous best at a World Cup.

Her partner was still there at the end, finishing with 53 not out but was a spectator for the final ball as Jhulan Goswami pulled out the cut shot to send the ball to mid-wicket for four.

Rana and Vastrakar had almost single-handedly rescued India to 244 for seven.

Vastrakar would not take the field for Pakistan’s innings, the adrenaline from her batting performance perhaps wearing off, but captain Mithali Raj said after the match it would not keep her out of their next game against New Zealand.

Swapping bat for ball, Rana took two for 27 as India bowled Pakistan out for 137, their run chase never got going.

Despite a collapse to 98 for seven for Pakistan, there was still time for another record to be broken, Richa Ghosh taking five dismissals, the first time a wicket-keeper had done so on World Cup debut.

It epitomised India’s afternoon – new talent producing performances far beyond their years – while Rana came good on her time in the wilderness with injury, showing it is never over until it is over.

PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari welcomes Nadeem Afzal Chan’s re-joining the PPP

Islamabad, March 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has warmly welcomes Nadeem Afzal Chan back in the party and hoped that he will with us for life. He said that he has a message for everyone who has ever raised the slogan of Jeay Bhutto to join the PPP. They all are welcome back in the party. He said that Chan’s return to the party proves that the people are not with this puppet. We are struggling for the restoration of democracy, the basic human rights and economic rights of the people of Pakistan.

Addressing a press conference at the residence of Naddem Afzal Chan where the later joined the PPP, Chairman PPP responding to the journalists’ questions said that Imran Khan is habitual of taking u-turns. The selected government is in pressure due to this long march and it has the biggest threat from the no-confidence motion. We are giving the puppet deadlines because we want him to resign and compete with us in the elections. If he says that people are with him then I challenge him to dissolve the assembly and face the people. Chairman PPP said that he salutes the Jiyalas who are marching for the last seven days. The Jiyalas are the most active ideological political workers of the country.

Responding another question Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the Pakistani history tell us that the establishment had not been neutral in the past and now in a few days it will be clear that whether it is now neutral or not. Responding another question he said that you must not try to create a dispute between the PPP and the PML-N and we all are struggling for a greater cause. He said that in his view the no-confidence should be tabled against the prime minister and the Speaker National assembly both.

On the question of Dharna he said that our intent is to fight democratically and if there is no hurdle in the long march then we will not need to take extreme step. The government members are joining us and if allied parties support us then the success will be near to certain. The government is trying to make the institution disputed our demand is neutrality from the establishment. He said that if I give the list of government members supporting us in the no-confidence motion then Imran Khan will make them missing persons.
