Call for Entries Issued for the 2022 Stevie® Awards for Great Employers

Seventh Annual Honors for Employers and HR Professionals is Accepting Nominations

FAIRFAX, Va., March 17, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The Stevie Awards has issued the call for entries for the seventh annual Stevie® Awards for Great Employers, which honor the world’s best companies to work for and the human resources teams, professionals, suppliers, and new products and services that help to create and drive great places to work.

All individuals and organizations worldwide – public and private, for-profit, and non-profit, large and small – may submit nominations to the Stevie Awards for Great Employers. The early-bird entry deadline, with reduced entry fees, is April 27. The final entry deadline is June 8, but late entries will be accepted through July 7 with payment of a late fee. Juries composed of scores of executives around the world will determine the Stevie Award winners. Winners will be announced on August 8. Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie Award winners will be presented their awards at a gala event at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on September 17.

The Stevie Awards for Great Employers recognize achievement in many facets of the workplace. Categories include:

There are new categories in 2022 for Thought Leadership including Achievement in Thought Leadership Skills, Achievement in Thought Leadership Talent, Achievement in Thought Leadership for Recruitment, Achievements in Internal Thought Leadership, and HR Thought Leader of the Year.

Fourteen of the 16 HR Individual categories do not require payment of entry fees.

Winners in the 31 industry-specific Employer of the Year categories will be determined by a unique blend of public votes and professional ratings. Public voting will take place from July 11 – August 1.

Conference on Role of Students in Peace Narrative concluded

Khairpur, March 17, 2022 (PPI-OT): The Conference on Role of Students in Peace Narrative concluded jointly organized by the Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur and Centre for Health and Gender Equality (CHANGE), Lahore. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor presided over the session while Mr. Saifullah Abro, Deputy Commissioner, Khairpur was the chief guest.

 

Talking to the participants, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said that peace is a part of positive activism. Peace comes from the inner core of the hearts. The core responsibility for the promotion of peace is concerned with the teachers and parents. It is our collective duty to fight against the menace of terrorism and evil forces.

 

Dr. Ibupoto said we have to produce intellectuals to could preach the soft message of peace in the society. Dr. Ibupoto accorded special thanks to Mr. Saifullah Abro who spared his precious time to grace the event. He also acknowledged the efforts of CHANGE for the promotion of peace narrative among the teachers, students and staff at the campus as part of capacity building for peace narrative.

 

Mr. Saifullah Abro said there are four principles for the promotion of peace. Inclusiveness is very essential to take on board all the stakeholders. Protection of right is another principle for the promotion of peace by which we protect the fundamental rights of the people. Efficient service delivery is also principle by which we deliver efficiently for public at large.

 

The forth pillar is development. The judicious development will provide progress on the basis of merit. He said in the absence of these four principles, there is absence of peace. He said there are different threats to peace, weak service delivery, sectarianism, terrorism and crime are major challenges impeding in the way of peace.

 

Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences briefed about the peace project. He said 10 students mobilization seminars related to peace were held in various departments. 2 Two-Days peace narrative trainings conducted with 48 Faculty Members of different departments. Two-Day trainings conducted with 24 hostel administration staff while 3 three-days trainings were conducted with 72 male and female hostel students. facilitated the faculty, hostel staff and students to design the quality actions around peace.27 social action plan carried out i.e. seminars, mushaira, peace walk, cultural program, signature campaign were held.

 

Prof. Dr. Agha Nadia, Director Institute of Gender Studies talked on the Role of Women in Peace Building. She said women are the pioneer of peace because they train their children about the social values, peace and tolerance. She said peace is the outcome of positive mindset. We are striving to promote the soft message of peace in our institution with enthusiasm. Women has contributed positively in the promotion of peace worldwide.

 

Mr. Khadim Hussain Mirani, Executive Director Bhittai Social Watch and Advocacy (BSWA) talked on Role of Civil Society for Engaging Youth in Peace Promotion. Mr. Mirani shed light on the significance of peace. He said in the capacity of civil society activist, we have settled disputes in our area, provided health and education facilities to the people.

 

Syed Akbar Shah, Station Director, Radio Pakistan Khairpur talked on the Role of Radio in Peace Process. He said Radio Pakistan has widely propagated the message of peace and unity. We firmly believe in ethical values. The media is playing positive role in the peace building. Mr. Mumtaz Hussain, Executive Director CHANGE accorded vote of thanks to the Vice Chancellor, Deputy Commissioner, Khairpur and the guests speakers.

 

He said we are striving to promote the basic concept of peace and the capacity building of the youth across the country because educational institutions and youth could play decisive role in the promotion of tolerant and peaceful campuses. Mr. Ali Raza Lashari conducted the proceedings of the program. Appreciation shields were distributed among the organizers and guests.

Software Expo held

Khairpur, March 17, 2022 (PPI-OT): A Software Expo was organized by the Institute of Computer Science, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur and Ms. Uzma Rizvi, Associate Professor of Anthropology and Urban Studies, Social Sciences and Cultural Studies, Pratt Institute, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, New York, USA jointly inaugurated the Expo.

 

Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto appreciated the endeavours of the students who designed different models as projects on related with society. He said innovation has three phases i.e. lab, pilot project and industry. I am fully optimistic that our students will compete with the international community as far as innovation, research and development is concerned.

 

Ms. Uzma Rizvi applauded the efforts of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for the promotion of research culture at the campus. She said students of the Institute of Computer Science deserve for appreciation because they have prepared different projects for the benefit of the community. The Vice Chancellor, Ms. Uzma Rizvi, Prof. Dr. Qasid Hussain Mallah, Dean Faculty of Physical Sciences and others visited the stalls set in Expo.

Trials of Weightlifting under Kamyab Jawan held

Khairpur, March 17, 2022 (PPI-OT): Trials of Weightlifting Talent Hunt under Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan Sports Drive were held at Quaid-e-Azam University of Engineering, Science and Technology, (QUEST) Larkana Campus. During the course of trials, the sportsmen from Larkana Division participated. The trials were conducted under the supervision of Mr. Muhammad Murad Pirzada, Director Physical Education, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur and Organizing Secretary of the Kamyab Jawan Sports Drive.

 

Prof. Dr. Zahid Hussain Abro, Pro-Vice Chancellor QUEST, Nawabshah was the chief guest on this occasion. Talking to the participants Dr. Zahid Hussain Abro said it is a good initiative taken by the Prime Minister Office in order to promote the sports culture among the youth countrywide.

 

He also appreciated the efforts of Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur and Sports Section of University for conducting the trials to select the sportsmen from this Division. MoU between UCP and Jinnah Hospital

Lahore, March 17, 2022 (PPI-OT): An MoU between UCP and Jinnah Hospital was signed on March 03, 2022, formalizing various avenues of collaboration. Dr. Nassar Ikram, Pro-Rector UCP, and Prof. Dr. Tahir Rashid, MS Jinnah Hospital graced the event. The collaboration emerged as a realization to collectively address the translational challenges and to address the societal issues by both institutions.

 

UCP houses a dedicated Faculty of Life Sciences encompassing various research domains of Bio-Technology, Bio-Chemistry, Micro-Biology, and Food Sciences.
