Three-day international conference on governance and quality assurance in higher education institutes concluded 

Khairpur, March 11, 2022 (PPI-OT):Three-Day International Conference on Governance and Quality Assurance in Higher Education Institutes concluded at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur jointly organized by the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur in collaboration with Higher Education Commission, Pakistan, and Pakistan Network of Quality Assurance in Higher Education (PNQAHE), Khyber Medical University, Peshawar and The Shaikh Ayaz University, Shikarpur.

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur presided over the concluding session while Mr. Muhammad Mureed Rahmoon, Secretary, Universities and Boards Department, Govt. of Sindh was the chief guest. Prof. Dr. Sarosh Lodhi, Vice Chancellor, N.E.D University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, Prof. Dr. Saleem Raza Samo, Vice Chancellor, Quaid-i-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology, Nawabshah, Mr. Saifullah Abro, Deputy Commissioner, Khairpur and Prof. Dr. Zia-ul-Haque, President, PNQAHE and Vice Chancellor Khyber Medical University Peshawar were the guests of honour.

Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said that there are five basis of quality assurance in Higher Education Institutes i.e. teachers, students, parents, society and government but there is direct relationship between the two segments teachers and students. We teachers are responsible for the promotion of quality. Dr. Ibupoto said during the course of conference, different suggestions and recommendations were given by the foreign and national scholars.

These recommendations are value-added and will be sent to the concerned quarters for implementations. Dr. Ibupoto accorded especial thanks to Mr. Muhammad Mureed Rahmoon Secretary Universities and Boards who spared his precious time to grace the conference and also the guest Vice Chancellor of different Universities of Pakistan.

Mr. Muhammad Mureed Rahmoon said that higher education is based on trainings, capacity building, but we must concentrate on the improvement of Primary Education because it is the baseline of the nation and students groom from the Primary Education. He said that government will support in the fields of research and development and projects on multilateral fields.

He said that the huge responsibility lies to the Universities to equip the students with the knowledge. There is no need of bulk degrees but degrees with quality are essential for nation building. He assured that Universities and Boards Department will support Universities financially and administratively. He appreciated the dynamic efforts of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto and his team for organizing this international moot in befitting manner.

Prof. Dr. Sarosh Lodhi said that quality is perception. It is limit less. Quality has benchmarks. Quality is gaining momentum day by day. Dr. Lodhi said quality is based on ethics and values. It is need of the time that better human resource may be produced with the help of quality education and research. He also extended felicitation to Prof. Dr. Iram Rani Director QEC, Shah Abdul Latif University, and Khairpur for organizing this result-oriented conference.

Renowned foreign and national scholars Dr. Anca Prisacariu from Romania, Dr. Bassam-Alhamad from Bahrain, Dr. Donald Staub, Dr. Bahar Gun from Turkey, Dr. Rukhsana Kaleem from Lahore, Prof. Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari and Prof. Dr. Iram Rani, Secretary of the conference also shared their views. They appreciated the hospitality extended by the host University.

Kamyab jawan talent hunt weightlifting launching ceremony held 

Khairpur, March 11, 2022 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister’s Pakistan Kamyab Jawan Talent Hunt Weightlifting Launching Ceremony was held at Syed Qaim Shah Jillani Indoor Sports Complex, Shah Abdul Latif University, and Khairpur. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur along with Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Mari, Vice Chancellor, Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam, Prof. Dr. Amanat Ali Jalbani, Vice Chancellor, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Shaheed Benazirabad and Syed Nasir Shah, Director General Quality Assurance, Higher Education Commission, Islamabad inaugurated the event.

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto extended his cordial thanks to the Prime Minister Secretariat and Higher Education Commission for allocating weightlifting event to Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur. Dr. Ibupoto said that this Kamyab Jawan Program is gaining momentum across the country under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister of Pakistan, as result, sports activism emerged countrywide. Dr. Ibupoto commended the efforts of Mr. Muhammad Murad Pirzada, Director Physical Education and his team for organizing this event in befitting manner.

Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Mari congratulations to Prime Minister Office for providing patronage and proper guideline, as result, the physical activism has started in the University. He said sports activities are integral part of academic life. He appreciated the endeavour of Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for providing a viable platform for sports activities at the campus. He said to the sportsmen that you are lucky enough having modest infrastructure at SALU.

Earlier, Mr. Muhammad Murad Pirzada, Director Physical Education welcomed the guests and participants. He briefed that it is pride and rejoice for us that our university is among the 25 Universities of Pakistan who got Kamyab Jawan Event. He said in Zone-H we will organize six events of different sports. Mr. Zulfiqar Ali, Director Sports Sukkur conducted the proceedings of the ceremony.

Spring plantation drive started in Turbat University

Turbat, March 11, 2022 (PPI-OT):In line with PM’s Green Pakistan Program, an extensive spring tree plantation drive has been started at the main campus of the University of Turbat (UoT). Prof. Dr. Jan Muhammad, UoT’s Vice-Chancellor inaugurated the tree plantation drive by planting a sapling near the multipurpose hall of the university on the 8th of March, 2022.

Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Ganguzar Baloch, Registrar, Deans, Directors, Sectional Heads, Faculty Members, Administrative Staff, and students graced the events by their presence at the large numbers and planting trees at different areas of the campus.

Addressing to the plantation launching ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized that the extensive participation of faculty members and students in plantation drive is imperative in order to achieve the target of a green and clean university campus.

He said that Turbat University is aware of its social responsibilities to contribute to the government’s efforts to overcome the negative impacts of climate change and global warming. Therefore, we took effective measures on a priority basis by planting trees at a large scale on all campuses of the university.

VC advised Deans, Directors, Heads of teaching departments, and faculty members to sensitize the students for planting at least 8 trees during the course of their studies at the university, it will surely be an example to follow and a great service to the next generations.

Sharing the details of the plantation drive, the VC informed that we have planted around three thousand trees so far at campus and have set a target of planting around four to five thousand trees at different places of the varsity’s campus during this spring season.

According to Nusrat Baloch, Divisional Forest Officer of Mekran Division, a project of forest department of the government of Balochistan is underway in the University of Turbat, and as many as 10,000 trees have been planted so far on the 37 acres land of the university under this project and the work is underway for the planting more trees in and around the university.

The Vice-Chancellor requested local administration, civil society, and other public and private organizations of the region to play their due role in making the university campus and Turbat city clean and green. Dr. Roohullah, Chairperson, Department of Natural and Basic Sciences, and Ghous Bux Baloch, In-charge, Botanical Garden also shared their views on this occasion.

MoU Signing Ceremony between CWRSL and DSU

Karachi, March 11, 2022 (PPI-OT):DSU aims to provide opportunities to its students to access latest literary and research-oriented resources. In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between DHA Suffa University and Captain Waseem Uddin Razi (Shaheed) Library (CWRSL) Phase II, DHA, Karachi is formerly known as DHA Central Library. The purpose is to strengthen student-book bond and to inculcate book reading habit among students. The library is equipped with over 80,000 books on multiple subjects.

The MoU was signed by Brig. (Retd.) Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saeed Minhas, Pro-Vice Chancellor, DSU, and Ms. Ayesha Chaudhary Secretary, CWRSL, to create strategic alliance and seamless linkages among both the libraries to cooperate in areas of learning and research development as well as to facilitate students of DHA Suffa University to get membership of CWRSL for borrowing books and other reading material.

SE Society and NTU Freelancers Community in Collaboration has conducted a seminar “Kick-Start your Freelancing Career” 

Faisalabad, March 11, 2022 (PPI-OT):Leadership and effective Guidance are the necessity for selecting a right Career. For this Purpose SE Society and NTU Freelancers Community in Collaboration has conducted a seminar “Kick-Start your Freelancing Career” Session-1. The seminar was inaugurated by Chairman Department of Computer Science Dr. Asif Habib, who encouraged the SE society for arranging such type of events.

Our student Mr. Abuzar (CEO Coliseum Soft, Alumini batch-13) was the guest speaker of this event. He has shared his stupendous experience about start of career in Freelancing. The main purpose of this event was to highlight the importance of Freelancing and skill development among the people.

The technical skills are the most valuable assets in freelancing that a person could have. So the handful skills and great understanding was given about the skills that focus on highlighting the importance of development that could be used to start your Freelancing Career.
