Indus Hospital and Health Network Partners with Haque Academy

Karachi, April 11, 2023 (PPI-OT):Indus Hospital and Health Network signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Haque Academy on April 11, 2023. The agreement was signed by Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, President of IHHN, and Maria S. Haque, Director, Haque Academy. Under the new partnership, students will be inducted into Indus Yaqeen – IHHN’s youth engagement program – and will be given the opportunity to become IHHN ambassadors and participate in various awareness and fundraising events. Students will also be offered the chance to partake in i-Hope Program – IHHN’s summer and winter volunteer program.

In addition to this, Health Education sessions will be conducted by experts from IHHN for the parents, staff, teachers and students of Haque Academy. The two parties will also collaborate to organize a blood drive on school premises to help donate safe, quality blood for needy patients.

The MoU signing took place during a visit by Dr. Abdul Bari Khan to the school, during which a Tarbiyat Saving Box collection activity was also conducted with the KG-Grade 9 students who shared heart-warming stories of saving their personal allowances and raising funds in their community. The collected funds were handed over to IHHN and will be used to provide free-of-cost quality healthcare to those who need it most. Indus Hospital and Health Network is proud to partner with Haque Academy, a prestigious organization who is committed to helping IHHN empower students to take initiative and lead Pakistan into a healthier and happier future.

90% Pakistanis report they have cancelled their travel and vacation plans due to ongoing inflation: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan

Islamabad, April 11, 2023 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 90% Pakistanis report they have cancelled their travel and vacation plans due to ongoing inflation.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the question “Please think in regards of the following statements and respond with whether inflation has affected your social/home life? – Reduced travel, and plans to go to tourist destinations during vacations, due to inflation?” In response, 90% said yes, 9% responded no and 1% did not respond or said they did not know.

OIC delegate calls on PU VC

Lahore, April 11, 2023 (PPI-OT):Comstech Coordinator General Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary has visited Punjab University and met PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Mehmood. Dr. Choudhary extended his warm congratulations to Prof. Dr. Khalid Mehmood on his appointment as Pro-Vice Chancellor. Comstech, the OIC Standing (Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation), is a specialized institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) working towards promoting scientific and technological cooperation among member states.

During the meeting, Dr. Choudhary and Dr. Khalid discussed various aspects of mutual interests and collaborations between both institutions. They also agreed to enhance the cooperation in Science and Technology, Higher Education and CCoE fellowship program. Both parties showed a great interest in expanding their partnership in research and development in the fields of mutual interests. Dr Khalid Mahmood said that PU would extend full support to attract foreign students from Islamic countries.

Dr. Choudhary expressed his confidence in the potential of the collaboration between COMSTECH and Punjab University Lahore, and looked forward to achieving mutually beneficial outcomes from this partnership. This meeting was a significant step towards fostering a stronger relationship between COMSTECH and Punjab University Lahore, and towards achieving their shared objectives of promoting research and development in the region.

President Asif Ali Zardari welcomes Buland Khan Tarakai and family to the Pakistan People’s Party

Grant Bradburn shares his excitement on working with Pakistan

Lahore, April 11, 2023 (PPI-OT):Pakistan’s newly appointed head coach Grant Bradburn has expressed his excitement at working with the Pakistan side, calling it a ‘wonderful opportunity’. The Kiwi has previously served as a fielding coach of the national side from 2018 to 2020 before he joined the National Cricket Academy, then known as National High-Performance Centre, to take on the coaches’ development responsibilities. “[It is} wonderful to be back and really, really nice to have such a warm welcome,” Bradburn told PCB Digital upon landing in Lahore in the wee hours of Tuesday.

“It’s an honour to be back and serving Pakistan. I first arrived in Pakistan in 1990 with a New Zealand team and then had three wonderful years working with the team and all the coaches in Pakistan during 2019 to 2021. “It’s an honour and a privilege to be serving Pakistan again. So wonderful opportunity, really looking forward to be working alongside Mickey Arthur and also the players and staff of this team.”

Bradburn maiden assignment as Pakistan head coach will begins this week as the hosts play New Zealand in five T20 Internationals. The two sides will then meet for as many One-Day Internationals in the tour that stretches from 14 April till 7 May. “There is so much talent in this team and I am looking forward to getting along them and perhaps influencing them to make some real positive change.”
