The PPP demands student unions restored in the country: Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Islamabad, March 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the students have resisted the dictatorial rules of general Ayab and general Ziaul Haq and that is why the students’ unions were banned by general Zia. The dictators and their supporters have deprived the students of their democratic rights. Sindh has restored Students’ unions and now the PPP wants to see them restored all over the country.

PPP chair said this while addressing the participants of the long march at Okara on Saturday. He said that the people of the country has given their verdict in favour of the Awami long march against this selected, incapable, and illegitimate government of the puppet Imran Khan. The incident of terror have increased during this government whereas the PPP had thwarted terror designs during its government 2008-13. He vowed to continue defeating these extremists and terrorists in future as well.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the PPP stance is that if the farmer is prosperous, the entire country is prosperous. Quaid-e-Awam gave the farmers right of ownership to their land. The PPP philosophy is that the one who sows is the one who reaps. Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had ordered her government to buy the entire crop of potato when the farmers were not getting the return of their crop because she did not want the famers to sleep hungry.

In contrast this selected has forced the farmers to buy fertiliser from black market. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that if you ask any youth, he will tell that this selected has brought destruction in the name of change. He said that he is young as well and understands the issues of youngsters. He said that the most universities in the country have been established by the PPP.

Chairman PPP said that Quaid-e-Awam and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto gave 5 and 7 marla schemes during their governments whereas this selected could not give a single house to anyone but promised 50 lac houses instead he got his own Banigala mansion regularised after depriving thousands of their abodes. The PPP increased pay and pensions and this selected made thousands unemployed.

Sciver: England believed right until the end against Australia

Islamabad, March 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):Nat Sciver admitted she thought an England victory was right up until the final over in a high-scoring thriller against Australia.

Sciver made 109 off just 85 balls to give the defending World Cup champions a sliver of hope heading into the final six balls.

They were delivered by Jonassen, who conceded only three runs and took a sharp caught and bowled to clinch the game for her side as England ended on 298 for eight.

Australia had been set up by a measured 130 from Rachael Haynes at the top of the order to post 310 for three before Alana King took three for 59, but Sciver saw her name up in lights.

She revealed: “I felt like we were going to get it and I think the first ball I wasn’t really sure as to what length she was going to bowl.

“Obviously, she would keep it tight to me, but I felt like if I got that one away, it would have happened a bit easier.

“But Katherine [Brunt] had also come in and played spin really well. That catch to get Katherine out was pretty special.

“That that goes through your hand that goes for four and it could have been a different end, so I’m frustrated.”

Sciver has been in imperious form since the end of a winless Ashes campaign having backed up a century in the warm-up match against Bangladesh with a ton in Hamilton.

“I’m really happy with where I’m at, taking it from the warm-up game, it was important not to let that be a one-off. I’m really happy to be able to get to three figures, but I would have liked to get the win.

“From where we were at the end of the Ashes, I think we were in a pretty, pretty low spot. But to be able to turn that around in a couple of weeks is really important.

“And to be able to take that into the rest of the tournament, I think we’ve already seen a lot of high scoring games, so it’s important for us to do.”

Fellow centurion Haynes made good on a slow start to her innings as she posted a 131-ball 130 in an 196-run partnership with captain Meg Lanning.

And King put in a fitting tribute to her idol Shane Warne as the fellow Victorian leg-spinner took the crucial wickets of Tammy Beaumont and Sophia Dunkley before Jonassen delivered at the death again.

Haynes said: “She [Jonassen] wanted to bowl it. We wanted to use the seam to take the game as deep as we could.

“Nat Sciver was batting exceptionally well and we really dangerous, so we just wanted to use Tahlia McGrath and Megan Schutt to take the game deep.

“The thing about Jess Jonassen is she’s been a real clutch player for us in the past and really stepped into those moments in years gone by.

“When we were talking about it, she was actually already walking to the bowler’s end to take the ball so I think it was going to be pretty hard to get that over away from her.”

Australia now head to Tauranga to take on Pakistan on Tuesday with England facing the West Indies the next day in Dunedin.

Let’s take real action for obesity, together

The ISA proudly supports World Obesity Day 2022

BRUSSELS, Belgium, March 04, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — With hundreds of million people around the world currently living with obesity, it is more important than ever to support World Obesity Day and the call for everyone to act now. Joining forces with obesity and health-related organisations around the world, the International Sweeteners Association (ISA) is proud to renew its support to this key awareness day.

Obesity remains a global problem, and it affects us all1:

  • 800 million people are living with obesity and millions more are at risk;
  • Childhood obesity is a major public health challenge too and is expected to increase by a further 60% over the next decade, reaching 250 million by 2030;
  • Obesity is the getaway to many diseases including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and certain cancers;
  • Importantly also, in the context of the pandemic the world has been facing for the past two years, people living with obesity are twice as likely to be hospitalised if tested positive for COVID-19.

Anne-Sophie Joly, President of CNAO2, the French association for people living with obesity, highlights that: “Although obesity affects a large part of the global population, today it is still widely unknown. Patients living with obesity need the support from everyone to aspire to a better future: better prevention, information and education around obesity for all.”

Today, we know that the root causes of obesity are complex and multi-factorial, and as a consequence, the solutions are not straight-forward. Still, while no single act can fix the obesity crisis, creating a healthier food environment is a step forward.

Together, we can make a difference in obesity management
In line with this year’s World Obesity Day theme, “Everybody needs to act” now, and together, to spread the word about obesity prevention and management. This is why for this year’s campaign, the ISA is honoured to be partnering with renowned obesity and health-related organisations on the development of its digital campaign, whom include: CNAO and ADEXO3, respectively the French and the Portuguese associations for people living with obesity, as well as the Hellenic Medical Association for Obesity (HMAO). Our campaign has also received the valuable support from the Brazilian diabetes association4 (ANAD), the Brazilian Association of Diabetes Educators5 (ANBED), the Colombian Diabetology Federation6 (FDC), and the Brazilian Federation of Diabetes’ Organisations7 (FENAD).

With all the above in mind, the ISA is proud to release its campaign for World Obesity Day 2022, which includes:
