55% of Pakistanis are happy with the Taliban rule in Afghanistan; support found to be highest in KP, among males, urban areas, and older people: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan

Islamabad, September 14, 2021 (PPI-OT): According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 55% of Pakistanis claim that they are happy that the Taliban will now rule Afghanistan.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the four provinces was asked the following question, “Some people are happy that the Taliban will now rule Afghanistan. Some are not happy about that. What is your opinion?” In response to this question, 55% said they are happy, 25% said they are unhappy, 16% did not know and 4% did not response.

Question: “Some people are happy that the Taliban will now rule Afghanistan. Some are not happy about that. What is your opinion?”

Approximately 1 in 3 Pakistanis complain that the general state of cleanliness in their neighbourhood is poor: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan

Islamabad, September 13, 2021 (PPI-OT): According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, approximately 1 in 3 Pakistanis complain that the general state of cleanliness in their neighbourhood is poor.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the four provinces was asked the following question, “What is the general state of cleanliness in your neighbourhood/village?” In response to this question, 10% said very good, 26% said good, 30% said adequate, 15% said bad and 18% said very bad. 1% did not know or did not provide any response.

Among Pakistanis who like and remember a federal cabinet minister, Shah Mahmood, Sheikh Rasheed and Murad Saeed are cited the most: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan 

Islamabad, September 10, 2021 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 26% of Pakistanis cite Shah Mahmood Qureshi as the minister from Imran Khan’s cabinet whose performance they consider best.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the four provinces was asked the following question, “Name one of the ministers in Imran Khan’s cabinet whose performance you like best?” In response to this question, 26% said Shah Mahmood Qureshi, 16% said Sheikh Ahmed Rasheed, 15% said Murad Saeed, 7% said Asad Umar, 4% Fawad Chaudhry, 3% said Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan, 2% said Shehryar Khan Afridi, 1% said Amir Liaquat, 1% said Zartaj Gul, 1% said Firdous Ashiq Awan, 1% said Mian Mahmood Ahmad, another 1% said Yasmin Rashid and 22% chose the option of others.

Note: Responses are presented from among those who named an individual minister from Imran Khan’s cabinet. More than 50% respondents said they do not like any minister or could not remember the name of any minister from Imran Khan’s cabinet.

Of those who received the coronavirus vaccine, more than half (58%) received Sinopharm: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan 

Islamabad, September 08, 2021 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, of those who got the COVID-19 vaccine, 58% Pakistanis received the Sinopharm vaccine.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the four provinces who got the COVID-19 vaccine was asked the following question, “What Corona vaccine did you get (even if it was only one dose)?” In response to this question, 58% said Sinopharm, 34% said Sinovac, 5% said Cansino, 1% said AstraZeneca and 2% did not know.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the four provinces was asked the following question, “How do you register for vaccination through the government?” In response to this question, 84% chose the option of SMS-ing the CNIC number to 1166, 15% stated that it is walk-in i.e. going to get vaccinated at any nearby vaccination center, and 1% chose the option of going through National Immunization Management System (NIMS website).
