93% of solar panel users in Pakistan say that the electricity bill encouraged them to install solar panels: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan

Islamabad, April 12, 2023 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 93% of solar panel users in Pakistan say that the electricity bill encouraged them to install solar panels.

A representative sample of net-metered individuals from across the country, was asked the question “What factors encouraged you to install Solar Panels?” In response, 93% said electricity bill, 42% said they wanted to live green (reduce their carbon footprint), 27% said dependency on outside sources encouraged them to install solar panels, 13% said the information provided by installer encouraged them while 8% said family, neighbours, friends etc. recommended them to install solar panels and 6% said other factors encouraged them.

Islamabad, April 11, 2023 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 90% Pakistanis report they have cancelled their travel and vacation plans due to ongoing inflation.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the question “Please think in regards of the following statements and respond with whether inflation has affected your social/home life? – Reduced travel, and plans to go to tourist destinations during vacations, due to inflation?” In response, 90% said yes, 9% responded no and 1% did not respond or said they did not know.

Islamabad, April 10, 2023 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 4 in 10 Pakistanis have and use no alternative energy sources during load shedding, UPS reported by only 5%.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country, was asked the question “Which alternative source of energy do you mainly use during a power breakdown?” In response, 40% reported not using any alternative power source, 20% reported using candles, 18% said they use rechargeable lights, 14% said they use solar power/system, 5% reported using UPS, 3% said they use generator while 1% did not respond or did not know.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country, was asked the question “Please tell me: during the past 12 months, have you felt isolated from others?” In response, 71% said no while 29% responded yes.

Islamabad, April 05, 2023 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 59% Pakistanis say that unclean drinking water is the main cause of diarrhoea/cholera.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country, was asked the question “What do you think are the causes of diarrhoea/cholera?” In response, 59% said unclean drinking water, 37% said stale food, 35% responded germs/not washing hands before eating, 33% said unclean food and drink utensils, 17% responded not taking care of hygiene, 8% said by drinking water after eating melon/watermelon, 5% said heat while 6% did not respond or said they did not know.
