A Project entitled “Promoting Education for Sustainable Mountain Development through Curriculum Enrichment and Capacity Building ” has been approved 

Chitral, July 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):A Project entitled “Promoting Education for Sustainable Mountain Development through Curriculum Enrichment and Capacity Building “has been approved. The project is monitored by the United States Educational Foundation (USEFP) under the US-Pakistan University Partnerships Grants Program, funded by the United States Government.

Prof. Dr. Zahir Shah, the Vice-Chancellor, University of Chitral acknowledged the efforts of the Directorate of ORIC and termed it a big achievement. This Project will help to enrich and enhance the standard of research in the University of Chitral. Dr. Muhammad Romman, Deputy Director ORIC, University of Chitral, and the focal person of this project requested for submission of research proposals from the academicians of the University of Chitral.

RDC holds Islamic orientation workshop 

Islamabad, July 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):Regional Dawah Center (RDC), Sindh Karachi, Dawah Academy of International Islamic University (IIU) organized a three-day Islamic orientation workshop in collaboration with Smart School System.

This series of workshops on Islam orientation will be benefited by 90 teachers. This was the first meeting of the series in which as many as 25 teachers participated. On the first day of the workshop, Dr. Syed Aziz-ur-Rehman, in-charge of the Regional Dawa Center, gave a lively discussion on the “Prophetic Style of Teaching”.

In the second session, renowned trainer Nisar Musa Baloch addressed on “Teacher as Leader”. He elaborated how a teacher should be a leader in the light of modern requirements. He said that the teacher can play a key role in shaping the character and personality of the students. Earlier, from the inaugural session, Coordinator Dr. Shehzad Channa gave a detailed introduction of the training course and highlighted the activities of Dawa Academy.

Other important topics discussed at the workshop included team management, educational psychology, the importance of communication in teaching, the art of teaching in the light of Sirah-e-Taiba of Prophet (PBUH), and the concept of Islam.

At the end of the workshop, Dr. Syed Aziz-ur-Rehman in charge of Regional Dawah Center (Sindh) Karachi said that Dawah Academy conducted this training workshop to make the teachers aware of their responsibilities, so it is now the responsibility of the teachers to ensure that the students play a positive role in society.

At the end of the program, Mr. Farooq Edhi, of Smart School System thanked the organizers of Dawah Academy for organizing the training workshop. The participants of the course described the workshop as very useful and said that similar programs should be organized in future also to enhance the professionalism of the teachers.

The opening ceremony of the inter-Departmental Tug of War Championship-2022 

Faisalabad, July 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):The opening ceremony of the inter-Departmental Tug of war Championship 2022 was held in the Cricket ground of National Textile University. Mr Waqar Ahmad Deputy Director Advisor Students (Sports ) inaugurated the event.

The match was played between Textile Engineering (FMD) and polymer Engineering (DOM) teams. The (FMD) team won the match by 2-0. Mr Imran Ali , Pervaiz Akhtar (Sports Officers) Mr Sajid Anwar (PTI) Asif Ramzan were also present during the event.

Provost office holds farewell ceremony

Islamabad, July 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):A farewell ceremony for the students of last semester was held at the female hostels. Provost Dr. Humaira Ishfaq and her staff hosted the event. Student Affairs Advisor Dr. Sumiya Chugtai also attended the occasion as a guest.

On the occasion, outgoing students of all the 7 blocks participated in number of activities held. The address was finished by the Honourable Guest and Respected Provost. “Goodbyes are usually difficult to say. Saying goodbye is the toughest thing anyone has ever done on earth, but every ending has a new beginning” said Dr. Humaira Ishfaq in her address on the occasion.

They Students Advisor also wished a boarder and a prosperous future to students. On the occasion, provost office also hosted a dinner in the honour of the hostel boarders. At the end, boarders shared experiences and thoughts and memories at the dorms.

MUET Students Win Huawei’s ICT Skill Competition 2021 – Global Final 

Jamshoro, July 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):To promote ICT ecosystem, Huawei invites talented students from around the world to participate in Huawei’s ICT Skill Competition to test their capabilities in the domain of ICT. The competition is oriented towards Huawei’s ICT Academies, as well as colleges and universities that have disciplines in related fields such as IP networks and Cloud Computing.

The preliminary round of Huawei’s ICT Skill Competition involved more than 10000+ candidates across 96 universities from Pakistan. MUET candidates participated and passed preliminary exam with majority within the south region.

Due to impressive passing score and certification diversity by MUET students within the south region, Huawei decided to conduct National Final Lab. Exam at MUET campus. Top 20 students were selected to be interviewed for National Finals, and out of which 15 were MUET students.

Top 9 candidates were selected at this National Finals stage and were given Enablement Training by Huawei. Later, 6 winners were chosen based on the Instructors evaluation by Huawei’s HQ, Islamabad, out of which 3 candidates were from MUET. These students were separated into 2 teams of 3 to represent Pakistan in “Huawei’s Middle East ICT Competition 2021”.

13 teams comprising a total of 40+ students across the Middle East took part in the competition. The competition attracted more than 21000+ students and 500+ colleges and universities from Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates and so on.

Both Teams (Team 1 and Team 2) from Pakistan won 1st and 2nd position in the grand finale of Huawei’s Middle East ICT Competition 2021 held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The winning teams received 30000 USD, laptops, bags, goodies, trophies, certificates, and exam vouchers.

Later, all the winning teams across the globe from different regions such as Europe, Africa, and Asia compete in Global Final.

Pakistan Team 1 lead by Dr. Faheem Yar Khuhawar won the 1st Prize and the Pakistan Team 2 lead by Mr. M. Salman won the 2nd Prize against 137 Teams from 43 countries comprising a total of 500+ students across the globe in “Huawei ICT Competition – Global Final 2021”.

The Team 1 from Pakistan included Sateesh (Group Leader / MUET Student), Bhagchand (MUET student), and Iqra Fatima. While the Team 2 featured Adnan Ali (Group Leader), Mukhtar (MUET Student), and Rizwan.

As token of appreciation, Huawei awarded Dr. Faheem Yar Khuhawar with “Excellent Tutor Award”, he was also awarded “Excellent Tutor Award” by Huawei in 2019 as well.
