Registration Open – Summer English School – 2022 Learn English for Life 

Islamabad, July 21, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Department of English has launched Summer English School – 2022 to offer various English language courses. The basic aim of Summer English School is to enhance English language skills of the students and professionals at basic, intermediate and advanced level.

Whether students want to improve their language skills for academic purposes or learn these skills to pursue excellence in their professional careers, these courses will meet all of their requirements. These courses are being offered for all age groups. Classes will commence from August 01, 2022 and end on August 25, 2022.

Duration of each course would be 4 weeks and classes will be held from Monday through Thursday between 09 AM and 12 PM. Successful participants will also be awarded with completion certificates.

Following courses have been offered in Summer English School – 2022:

Speaking Pre-Intermediate (A1)

Islamabad, July 21, 2022 (PPI-OT):In a Gallup and Gilani Pakistan National Survey conducted in the year 2005, a representative sample of adult men and women from across Pakistan was asked the following question, “Which meat is mostly used in your family? White meat (chicken and fish) or red meat (mutton and beef)?” In response to this question, 41% said white meat, and 59% said red meat.

Comparative Picture: This question was asked again in 2022 to allow a comparison to be made across the years. In response to this question in 2022, 53% said white meat, 40% said red meat, and 7% didn’t know or gave no response.

Trend Analysis: Over the years, the consumption of white meat has increased (from 41% in 2005 to 53% in 2022) while the consumption of red meat has decreased (59% in 2005 to 40% in 2022), indicating a change in eating patterns.

This press release has been made as part of the Gallup Pakistan History Project which aims to release historical empirical polling data to wider audiences. The objective is to sustain and encourage empirical decision-making in Pakistan.

The history of PML-N is full of chaos and changa-manga politics: Ch Parvez Elahi 

Lahore, July 21, 2022 (PPI-OT):A meeting of the Parliamentary Party of the Pakistan Muslim League was held under the chairmanship of the Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and the parliamentary leader of the Pakistan Muslim League in the Punjab Assembly Sajid Ahmed Khan, in which consultation on the election of the Chief Minister was held.

Sajid Ahmad Khan, Hafiz Amar Yasir, Shujahat Nawaz, Bao Rizwan, Abdullah Yousaf Warraich, Ehsanul Haque, Dr. Muhammad Afzal, Basma Ch and Khadija Umar participated in the meeting. All the members of the Punjab Assembly expressed full confidence in the leadership of Ch Parvez Elahi and said that Insha-Allah they will elect Ch Parvez Elahi as the Chief Minister of Punjab.

Ch Pervez Elahi said that all the tactics of PML-N will fail miserably, every conspiracy to sabotage the Chief Minister’s election will be blocked, democracy and Imran Khan will be successful on July 22. The history of PML-N is full of anarchy and back-and-forth politics, the government should abide by the orders of the Supreme Court, otherwise the law will take its course.

UVAS holds consultative meeting to host 13th World Buffalo Congress 2023 

Lahore, July 21, 2022 (PPI-OT):The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore arranged a consultative meeting to host 13th World Buffalo Congress 2023 at Lahore-Pakistan. Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad chaired the meeting while a number of stakeholders from public and private sectors including Buffalo Breeder Association, Vice-Chancellors from Veterinary Universities and officials from Livestock Department were present virtually and physically.

While addressing the meeting, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad presented the expression of interest for the upcoming World Buffalo Congress 2023. The participants of the meeting lauded the effort of UVAS leadership to show case Pakistani indigenous breed at international forum. They also assured for providing their full support will successfully organize this mega event in the next year.

Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai and Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi called on Dr. Arif Alvi, President of Pakistan 

Islamabad, July 21, 2022 (PPI-OT):Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) and Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, President IIUI, called on H.E. Dr. Arif Alvi, the President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Chancellor, IIUI at Aiwan e Sadr on Thursday.

In the meeting, President Dr. Arif Alvi stressed that linkage of academia with industry is a prerequisite for the country’s progress and applicable research according to the market trends is the need of the hour. He said Offices of Research, Innovation and Commercialization and Business Incubation Centers launched by HEC must be well utilized by all the universities to know the market requirements and contemporary trends.

The President of Pakistan emphasized that skilled youth is imperative for the country’s bright future and we must focus on technical education and vocational training. IIUI Chancellor also urged the universities to broaden the scope of their education systems by promoting virtual dissemination of knowledge in order to increase the number of graduates in the country. He also advised IIUI to double the educational shifts in the University. The president of Pakistan said that the university needed to equip its students with soft skills, such as critical thinking, effective communication and teamwork, besides providing technical/hard skills.

Underscoring the increasing importance of online education, the President said that online contents of the knowledge needed to be enhanced as distance learning is cost-effective and easily accessible and duly recognized worldwide. H.E. President Alvi also emphasized the need to launch two-year Associate Degree Programs in order to fulfill the market’s growing demand for skilled graduates. The President of Pakistan asked to develop and strengthen online mode of learning by opting for online learning resources with the help of HEC to provide updated learning facilities to the faculty and students.

On the occasion, The President of Pakistan/Chancellor, IIUI was briefed By IIUI Rector and President on the implementation of new organogram and its implementation at the faculty level in the light of university’s strategic plan. The President of Pakistan was also briefed about the administrative reforms initiated at the university such as provision of the peaceful milieu for students, while he was also apprised on enhanced resource optimization and efforts of digitization.

IIUI Rector said on the occasion that the university, in the guidance of prudent vision of the Chancellor, is striving to enhance its ties with industry and it is focusing on producing knowledge relevant to the needs of society. The IIUI President apprised the honourable President of Pakistan about the university’s overall efforts under the newly launched strategic plan and progress of the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) initiative of the university.
