IUB observed Kashmir Siege Day 

Bahawalpur, August 05, 2021 (PPI-OT):On the direction of Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, a special seminar on Kashmir Siege Day was held at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Independence Day celebrations are being held at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur as an expression of solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiris. Prof. Dr. Aftab Hussain Gillani, Dean Law faculty said that teachers and researchers from the Departments of History, Pakistan Studies, Political Science, International Relations and Department of Law continue to conduct research activities and seminars and conferences to highlight Kashmir cause.

In this regard, the social, economic and political aspects of the Kashmir issue are being highlighted in collaboration with various national organizations. Former Chairman, Department of History, Dr. Shahid Hassan Rizvi said that at present India is laying bloody claws of tyranny on Kashmir. All the rights of Kashmiris have been taken away and their own land has been restricted to them. In Kashmir, every tactic is being tried to turn the majority into a minority through regular planning of demographic change. Intellectuals in our universities should effectively raise the issue of Kashmir in the United Nations, the International Court of Justice and international human rights bodies.

Prof. Dr. Musawir Hussain Bukhari, Head, Department of Political Science, said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur was effectively highlighting the Kashmir issue. In this regard, on the direction of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, a Media Conclave was organized at the University to highlight the Kashmir issue on global social media. Last year, on International Human Rights Day, teachers and students of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur took part in a signature campaign to show Solidarity with Kashmiri brother under the Million Signature Campaign on the Government of Pakistan’s web portal.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti distributes regularisation letters among 154 employees of Directorate General of Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab 

Lahore, August 05, 2021 (PPI-OT):Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti awarded regularisation letters to 154 employees of Directorate General of Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab at a largely-attended ceremony at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall on Thursday.

Director Admin Javed Chohan, Parliamentary Secretary Sonia Shah, Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti, Divisional Sports Officer Lahore Nadeem Qaiser, Assistant Director, Nabeel Akram, DSO Lahore Tanvir Shah, Malik Nasir, APCA Directorate General of Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Unit President Fiaz Ali, religious scholar Sabeel Ikram and other officials were also present on this occasion.

Punjab Minister for Sports, Youth Affairs and Tourism Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti was presented a traditional turban and memorable souvenir on this occasion. Director Admin Javed Chohan, Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti, Divisional Sports Officer Lahore Nadeem Qaiser and APCA Directorate General of Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Unit President Fiaz Ali were also given souvenirs on this occasion.

Punjab Minister for Sports, Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti, on this occasion, congratulated Director General Sports Punjab Adnan Arshad Aulakh and other officers on this great development. He also congratulated the newly-regularised employees and expressed his hope that they will perform their duties with full dedication and responsibility.

Addressing the ceremony Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said Punjab govt and sports ministry are taking all necessary measures for the welfare of employees. “Punjab govt has raised the sports budget sufficiently and welfare of sports persons and officials has been given top priority in Punjab’s first ever Sports Policy. We are also working on building a housing colony for employees,” he added.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said: “The newly-regularised employees deserved this promotion. They were doing their jobs on contact for several years. Job security and a safe future is the fundamental right of every employee. We are also planning to recruit more employees for our new and upgraded sports facilities across the province”.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said fortunately the grand honour of regularizing the employees went to PTI govt. “We regularize the remaining employees in the second phase”. He urged the newly-regularised employees to perform their duties with more dedication and honesty. “This promotion is definitely a reward for your hard work,” he added. The employees of Directorate General Sports and Youth Affairs also thanked Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti and his team for their key role in the regularisation of employees.

Congratulations, Dr. Hasan!

Karachi, August 05, 2021 (PPI-OT):We are pleased to announce that Dr. Aamir Hasan has assumed the position of Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty effective August 1, 2021. Dr. Hasan replaces Dr. Christopher Taylor, who had joined Habib University in January 2019, from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey, as Dean of Faculty and Vice President Academic Affairs.

Dr. Taylor, transitioned to a similar role at the Al Akhawayn University in Morocco, after serving nearly three years at Habib University. In addition to Interim VPAA, Dr. Hasan will continue to hold the office of Associate Dean of Undergraduate Education and Accreditation as well as continue his teaching assignments as an Associate Professor for the Electrical Engineering program.

Dr. Hasan’s experience as a lecturer at the University of Texas Austin and visiting faculty for graduate and undergraduate courses at Air University and Centre for Advanced Studies in Engineering (CASE) has honed his skills not only as a distinguished scholar, but also as a deeply committed academic leader. He is also the recipient of Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for his contributions in design and implementation of Pakistan Air Force Next Generation Networks.

At Habib University, Dr. Hasan has been instrumental to the advancement of our academic programs; he initially helped design the Electrical Engineering curriculum and thereafter has led redesign efforts and external review of numerous key academic programs. During his tenure, Dr. Hasan aims to prioritise academic excellence as the University strives to become a regional centre of academic excellence among undergraduate-focused liberal arts institutions.

“By any stretch of the imagination this is a tall task that can only be accomplished by treading the paths of shared governance, transparency and great work ethic,” says Dr Hasan, emphasizing on the need for consistent improvements through self-assessments, robust processes, plans and frameworks. VIS Directorate holds MOU Renewal Ceremony with Al-Khidmat Foundation and a Pre-Departure Orientation Session

Islamabad, August 05, 2021 (PPI-OT):A pre-departure orientation session was organized by VIS Directorate for VIS-CUST volunteers on 2nd and 3rd August, 2021 at Auditorium A1 and A2. The orientation started with the recitation of Quran. More than 600 students participated and benefited from this session and placed in their assigned organization.

Director VIS-CUST, Dr. Shaukat Iqbal Malik explained aim and objectives of VIS community training in the session. Vice president Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Mangat, Head of Volunteer Management Department Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan, Muhammad Sannan Akbar and President Al-Khidmat Islamabad, Hamid Ather Malik were present during the session.

Director VIS has also explained some important instructions for their successful community service training at assigned organization. The last Pre-Departure Orientation Session will be held on 5th of August for the students of Pharmacy due to their engagement in their final practical. Around 100 students from Pharmacy department will attend orientation ceremony. After the orientation VIS-CUST renew the MoU with Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan.

Faculty of Engineering and Technology holds prize distribution ceremony

Islamabad, August 05, 2021 (PPI-OT):Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) organized a prize distribution ceremony in honour of the management team of the recently held faculty’s Open House. Vice Chancellor Karakorum University, Engr. Prof. Dr. Atta ullah Shah graced the occasion and distributed prizes and souvenirs among the team members.

Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized upon ethics in profession and advised to hard work. He also highlighted the importance of Engineering Profession in Engineering. The VC KU also hailed IIUI and its Faculty of Engineering and Technology for the services to society and efforts to promote the profession.

Prof. Dr. Nadeem Ahmed Sheikh, Dean FET thanking the Chief Guest and rest of the audience praised the management team and vowed that next year this mega event will be even more advanced and more successful.
