Karachi, January 20, 2023 (PPI-OT):Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the world is facing many challenges including climate change, Pakistan is facing food security and energy problems, the economies of the third world are under pressure at the moment, the increase in gas prices worldwide. It has happened, the Russia-Ukraine war has had an impact on the whole world including the region. Speaking during the dialogue on the topic of security and coordination in the geopolitical situation in Davos on Friday, the foreign minister said that the only solution to the Ukraine-Russia conflict is diplomacy. He said that the effects of the war between Russia and Ukraine have affected the whole world including the region, the world has to cooperate to solve the problems.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized on improving and restructuring the international financial institutions to remove the concerns of the southern countries of the world. He emphasized that we need to avoid conflicts and there should be a return to the normal procedures of international organizations for solving other problems, including climate change. He said that if the international organizations work according to the contemporary requirements under the framework of the United Nations, the current conflicts that endanger the world can be resolved amicably. The foreign minister while mentioning the problem of Ukraine expressed hope that a way of negotiation and diplomacy will be found for the quick solution of this problem.

He said that the world is facing many challenges including climate change, all nations have to deal with climate change together. Bhutto Zardari said that third world economies are under pressure, Pakistan is facing food, energy, climate change and economic problems. He said that as far as Ukraine’s humanitarian crisis and loss of life is concerned, its economic consequences have not only affected Europe, but also the entire world, including the United States and Pakistan. Prices have increased. “We have food security, energy and security issues. We do not see the Ukraine conflict as the first and only time when international law and UN Security Council resolutions have been violated,” he said. It is ironic that the UN applies in Ukraine but not in Iraq.

He emphasized that Russia and Ukraine must adopt the path of dialogue for the establishment of peace.
