The seminar on the Topic “Yom-e-Shahadat Hazrat Ali Karram Allah Wajhahu” 

Faisalabad, April 25, 2022 (PPI-OT):A seminar to commemorate the days of, Martyrdom of Hazrat Ali Karram Allah Wajhahu, Death Anniversary of Hazrat Haleema Saadia (R.A) and Conquest of Makkah, was organized in TUF on April 22, 2022.

After recitation of Holy Quraan and Naat-e-Rasool Maqbool (SAW), Ms Ayesha Batool and students offered Manaqib of Hazrat Ali (Karram Allah Wajhahu) and Manaqib-e-Ehl-e-Bait Athaar (Alaehimus-Salam). Ms Nadia Khan Qadri and Dr Matlob Ahmed in their address paid rich tribute to the great companion of Holy Prophet (SAW) saying that there was no other personality that could be compared with Hazrat Ali (Karram Allah Wajhahu) in knowledge, wisdom and bravery.

She stressed the need to follow the Seerat and teachings of Hazrat Ali (Karram Allah Wajhahu) in true letter and spirit. She also shared her views on the life of Hazrat Haleema Saadia (R.A) and conquest of Makkah. Large number of faculty members, staff and students attended the seminar.

Inter Universities Naat Competition 

Faisalabad, April 15, 2022 (PPI-OT):Department of Optometry and Religious Society of TUF organized Intervarsity Naat competition in Health Sciences wing on April 11, 2022. Female students from various universities of Faisalabad participated in the competition.

Prof Naseem Sehraee, Principal, Government Graduate College for Women Sargodha Road, Faisalabad was the chief guest and chief judge. Ms Aesha Batool also conducted the event as a judge. The participants recited the beautiful Naats and expressed their love and devotion with their beloved Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W).

The results were as follows: First: Ms Shanza, (DPT), The University of Faisalabad Second: Ms Rimal Fatima, (BSEN), TUF Third: Ms Iqra Sarwar, GC Women University Faisalabad and Ms Saira Shehzad (BS Optometry), TUF. In her concluding remarks on the occasion, Prof Naseem Sehraee commended the efforts of TUF for organizing Naat competition saying that such events help link our young generation with the life and teachings of our beloved Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W). The winners were awarded with certificates and prizes.

Under the umbrella of the “Ramazan Events” being held in The University of Faisalabad 

Faisalabad, April 15, 2022 (PPI-OT):Under the umbrella of the “Ramazan Events” being held in The University of Faisalabad, The Department of English Language and Literature organized a Speech Competition in English and Urdu on the “Seerah of Syeda Khadija-tul-Kubra (R.A)” in Health Sciences wing on April 13, 2022.

The worthy judges for both were from Government College Women University Faisalabad. The judge for English Speech was Assistant Professor Ms Saira Akhtar, Head of the English Department in GCWUF, while the honour of judgment of Urdu Speech was performed by Assistant Professor Dr Sadaf Naqvi, Head of Urdu Department GCWUF.

Gifts were distributed among the position holders as well as the participants. The judges were also presented with a token of thanks by the coordinator of the department. The event ended with the group photo of the participants with the faculty members and the judges.

“Entrepreneurship as a force of change”

Faisalabad, April 01, 2022 (PPI-OT): Ms Vladimira Briestenska, Founder of Neem and The Future Farm Pakistan/Slovakia, Europe and Mr Nadeem Shaikh, Founder at Neem Exponential, Digital Financial Services in Pakistan; Founder at Future Farm, Entrepreneurs Mental Health, and United Kingdom visited The University of Faisalabad on March 30, 2022. During the meeting with Ms Zahida Maqbool, Additional Registrar, Dr Amna Javed, Manager International Linkages, Dr Arshia Hashmi, Head Department of Management Studies and other Heads of Departments, the guests were briefed about TUF and other welfare projects of Madinah Foundation.

Ms Vladimira and Mr Nadeem Shaikh visited various departments of the University and Madinah Teaching Hospital (MTH). They appreciated the state of the art infrastructure of the University and philanthropic activities of Madinah Foundation for providing free health care facilities at MTH.

Later, in Ali Auditorium, a panel discussion on “Entrepreneurship as a Force of Change” was also conducted participated by Ms Vladimira, Mr Nadeem Shaikh, Ms Zahida Maqbool, Dr Amna Javed, Dr Arshia Hashmi, Prof Dr Sundus Tariq, Prof Dr Saba Tariq and Dr Komal Atta. Large number of faculty members and students were present to listen the valuable discussion. Ms Vladimira and Mr Nadeem Shaikh lauded the efforts of Ms Zahida Maqbool and her team for women empowerment.

Ms Vladimira, Mr Nadeem Shaikh, faculty members and students also planted Neem saplings in the University lawn.

World Oral Health Day Observed in MTH 

Faisalabad, March 22, 2022 (PPI-OT):World Oral Health Day is marked annually on 20th March to raise awareness about the importance of oral health. Oral Health awareness program was organized at Dental Clinics, Madinah Teaching Hospital. Prof Dr Mian Farrukh Imran, Principal Dental College, UMDC supervised the activity.

Dr Farrukh in his address to the staff and outdoor patients at MTH shared his views on the theme of the day “Be Proud of Your Mouth”. He said ‘Good oral health is an important contributor to overall good health, well-being and quality of life. Later, Toothpaste and toothbrushes were distributed from Colgate Oral Health Division amongst the patients and staff to encourage them to take care of their oral health. Mr Tariq Laiq, the company’s manager was also present throughout the activity.

TUF renews MoU with DATH for drug control 

Faisalabad, March 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):The University of Faisalabad (TUF) has been already declared as smoke and drug free Institution, three years ago by the Drug Advisory Training Hub (DATH), a non-government organization working on abuse of drugs.

In this context, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was renewed between both the institutions witnessed by Mr Zahid Hussain, Commissioner Faisalabad division and Mr Muhammad Haider Amin, Chairman Board of Governors TUF. Syed Zulfiqar Hussain Consultant Anti-Drug/Narcotics, Chairman DATH and Ms Zahida Maqbool, Additional Registrar, TUF signed the agreement. The agreement was renewed with aim to restrain youngsters from the consumption of drugs which is increasing at an alarming pace.

On this occasion an awareness seminar on “Drug abuse prevention among youth” was also organized in Mukhtar Auditorium of the University. Mr Imran Baloch, Director Focus Rehabilitation, Syed Mohsin, Coordinator Education Program (DATH), Heads of Departments, faculty members and large number of students attended the seminar.

Addressing the audience Mr Zahid Hussain, Commissioner said that that new trends of drug addiction are increasing among the youth particularly students which is an alarming situation. He said that the government is fully aware of the gravity of the problem and we are making all efforts to control drug menace in the society.

Commissioner also appreciated the efforts of the University Management under the auspices of Madinah Foundation in health and education sector. Mr Muhammad Haider Amin in his address stressed the need for collective efforts aimed at creating awareness of the harmful effects of drugs use among the youth. TUF with collaboration of its affiliated Madinah Teaching Hospital is already taking measures for the rehabilitation of drug addicts, he added.

Syed Zulfiqar Hussain highlighted the issue of drug usage among students. He said that a comprehensive planning should be introduced about use of drugs in educational institutions because our youth is our future in the country. Mr Zahid Hussain also planted as a sapling in the University and launched the spring plantation drive of TUF.
