Karachi Enhances Citizen Services at Union Council Level with NADRA’s Assistance

Karachi, As part of an initiative to improve public services, the Deputy Secretary Information of the Pakistan Peoples Party Karachi Division, Asif Khan, announced new measures to make essential services more accessible to the residents of Karachi. These services, including changes in marital status, cancellation of ID cards, and death registrations, will now be available at the Union Council (UC) level, allowing citizens to handle their documentation close to home.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Asif Khan emphasized that the vision of Bilawal Bhutto is to ensure that all possible facilities are provided directly to the people’s doorsteps. This move to decentralize services to the UC level is a significant step in this direction, facilitated by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), which has deployed staff to each Union Council in Karachi for three days each week (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday).

Further initiatives are being discussed to expand these local services to include the provision of learner driving licenses, renewal of existing driving licenses, and issuing of duplicate driving licenses, as well as tenant registration. These discussions involve relevant institutions to ensure that the expansion of services continues in alignment with the needs of the citizens, particularly those in NA 235, demonstrating the People’s Party’s commitment to welfare and public interest.
