Pasban Democratic Party Criticizes Security Disruptions During Iranian President’s Visit to Karachi

Karachi, In a statement released by the Pasban Democratic Party, Chairman Altaf Shakoor criticized the extensive security measures and disruptions caused by the visit of the Iranian President to Karachi. He emphasized the unnecessary closure of educational institutions and markets, highlighting the strain on local citizens. Shakoor suggested that such visits and related negotiations should instead take place in designated high-security zones.

According to Pasban Democratic Party, Shakoor welcomed the Iranian President and his wife to Pakistan but questioned the wisdom behind disrupting daily life in major cities like Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. He proposed that the leadership meetings could occur at more secure locations such as the airport or official government residences, thereby minimizing public inconvenience.

Shakoor also expressed concerns over the timing of the visit, which coincides with international cricket matches in Karachi, predicting severe traffic and further hardships for residents. He noted the adverse effects on daily wage workers who stand to lose significant income due to the closures. Shakoor called for more sensible planning by security agencies to foster economic development and reduce public burden without compromising the security of visiting dignitaries.
