PTI Karachi Leader Condemns Water Corporation Corruption and Jacobabad Incident

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi General Secretary Arslan Khalid has denounced the alleged corruption within the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation, following the leak of payroll documents that reportedly reveal systemic financial misconduct. The documents, dated April 2026, have raised public concern over the corporation's practices, with claims of undue financial benefits being granted to certain officials. Khalid criticized the creation of new posts to favor individuals, stating that these officials receive salaries surpassing those of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan. This situation, he argued, adds significant strain to the national budget, while Karachi's residents continue to struggle with inadequate water supply and sewerage services. Khalid called for an immediate investigation into the alleged corruption and questioned the oversight of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.

According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Khalid separately addressed an incident in Jacobabad involving a feudal lord and a young man and his mother. The PTI leader expressed outrage over the reported coercion of the pair into a degrading act following a minor social media comment. Khalid criticized the provincial government's inability to curb the influence of powerful landlords, suggesting that the feudal system continues to undermine the rule of law in Sindh. He urged the IG Sindh and relevant authorities to take swift action against the feudal lord, asserting PTI's support for the affected family and its commitment to seeking justice.
