Dr. Atif Ashraf Addresses Media Misinformation in Student Workshop

Lahore: Dr. Atif Ashraf delivered a presentation titled "Truth Behind News" as part of the Media Literacy Program 2026, aimed at enhancing media literacy among non-media students. The initiative was organized by the Faculty of Media and Mass Communication (FMMC) and saw participation from 75 students across eight faculties at the University of Central Punjab. The session emphasized issues related to misinformation, fake news, fact-checking, and the responsible use of social media.

According to University of Central Punjab, the Media Literacy Program 2026 is a free capacity-building initiative. Dr. Sadaf Zahra provided an overview of the program's objectives and introduced the academic offerings of the FMMC to the attendees. The session is part of a broader effort to equip students with the tools to critically evaluate media content and foster responsible consumption of information.
