PPP Aims for Victory in Gilgit-Baltistan Elections, Says Party Leader

Gilgit: Secretary General of the Pakistan People's Party Parliamentarians, Nayyer Hussain Bukhari, has expressed confidence in the party's prospects ahead of the forthcoming elections in Gilgit-Baltistan. According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Bukhari stated that the party's Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari were warmly received in the region, reflecting the strong support the party enjoys among the local populace.

Bukhari projected that the Pakistan People's Party will achieve a significant victory in the elections, asserting that the next Chief Minister will be from their ranks. He emphasized the historical ties between the people of Gilgit-Baltistan and Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, highlighting the party's achievements in ending the feudal system and abolishing the Frontier Crimes Regulations.

Bukhari further noted that the people of Gilgit-Baltistan have long benefitted from the party's efforts to secure their rights to governance and ownership. The establishment of an elected assembly, governor, and chief minister in the region is presented as a testament to the PPP's contributions. He concluded by underscoring the electorate's trust in the party, rooted in the legacy of leaders like Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, and President Asif Ali Zardari, as evidenced by the large turnouts at campaign gatherings.
