LAHORE: Punjab University students are set to benefit from a substantial financial subsidy totaling Rs. 11.41 billion in the fiscal year 2026-27. The university has announced plans to support its students through a combination of internal resources and government grants.
According to University of the Punjab, the institution will allocate Rs. 7.88 billion from its own funds, while an additional Rs. 3.53 billion will come from government grants. This financial plan translates to an average subsidy of Rs. 175,000 per student from the university's resources, with an additional Rs. 78,547 per student sourced from government funding. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali emphasized that the university maintains the lowest fee structure among public sector universities and is dedicated to providing high-quality education at minimal cost. He highlighted the university's commitment to ensuring optimal facilities for its students.
