Lahore, The Advancement and Alumni Office of Forman Christian College (FCC) organized an Iftar Dinner and Zakat Drive on March 19, 2024, uniting alumni to support the institution’s mission to provide accessible education and to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan with communal harmony.
According to Forman Christian College, the event featured a series of heartfelt recitations and addresses, fostering a spirit of generosity among attendees. Dr. Tahir Shaheer, as the Master of Ceremony, opened the evening by thanking the alumni for their participation and underscoring the importance of the gathering. Mr. Attiazaz Munawwar Ud Din, President of the Formanite Alumni Association, spoke on the significance of Zakat in social transformation, while Ch. Shafaat Ahmed of the FCCU Zakat committee discussed community solidarity in overcoming societal challenges.
The pinnacle of the evening was the pledging session, where attendees committed to support the Zakat drive, aimed at extending educational opportunities to deserving students. In recognition of past contributions, shields were presented to donors as symbols of appreciation for their generosity in the previous fiscal year.
Mrs. Badia Raza, the Chief Marketing and Outreach Officer, concluded the event with a note of gratitude to all present for their dedication to the cause.
