AJK Prime Minister Discusses Regional Development with President Zardari in Islamabad

Islamabad, In a significant meeting today at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) discussed the development and socio-economic challenges facing AJK with President Asif Ali Zardari. The leaders focused on enhancing the region’s tourism potential and addressing educational needs.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, the meeting highlighted the immense tourism potential of AJK due to its scenic landscapes. President Zardari emphasized the need to fully develop this sector to boost the local economy and promote socio-economic growth. He assured that Pakistan would provide comprehensive support and assistance to attract investment in various sectors of AJK’s economy, particularly tourism.

The discussion also covered the importance of equipping AJK’s youth with modern skills and education to ensure their meaningful participation in the region’s development. The President mentioned potential benefits from the carbon credit markets for AJK and reaffirmed his support for Prime Minister Haq’s government. Furthermore, the Prime Minister invited President Zardari to visit AJK and address the Legislative Assembly.

Additionally, President Zardari expressed his condolences for the lives lost in recent rain-related incidents in AJK and highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to supporting the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in their struggle for self-determination. He condemned the human rights violations in IIOJK and called for international intervention to enforce UN Security Council resolutions in the region.
