Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Highlights Kashmir Issues with Photographic Exhibition

Karachi: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi held a photographic exhibition titled “Youm-e-Istehsal Jammu and Kashmir” at the Haseena Moin Hall, drawing attention to the ongoing human rights issues in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. The event featured powerful images depicting the struggles of the region’s elderly, children, and youth.

According to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the exhibition was inaugurated by Saeed Ghani, Provincial Minister of Sindh for Information, Labour and Human Resources, alongside notable figures such as Muhammad Ahmed Shah, President of the Arts Council, and Bashir Sadozai, Resident Director of District Central. In his opening remarks, Ghani drew parallels between the situations in Kashmir and Palestine, expressing concern over the global response to these crises. He underscored that the photographic display serves as a reminder of the resilience and ongoing struggle of the Kashmiri people.

The exhibition aimed to educate and rally support by visually documenting resistance against oppression, with a focus on the changes since August 5, 2019, when India revoked the special status of Kashmir. The event also served as a platform for criticizing the silence of major global powers regarding the Kashmir and Palestine issues, suggesting that their continued indifference could compromise global peace.
