Lahore, A recent seminar titled “Sports Psychology: Nurturing Talent and Mental Health in Youth,” hosted by the Pakistan Psychological Association in collaboration with the Youth Affairs and Sports Department of the Government of Punjab, focused on the critical role of mental health in the development of young athletes. The event, held at the E-library and Youth Centre Sports Complex in Lahore, brought together faculty and students from the Institute of Applied Psychology.
According to University of the Punjab, the seminar featured discussions led by prominent psychologists including Prof Dr Najma Najam and Prof Dr Ruhi Khalid. The sessions highlighted how psychological principles can be applied to sports to improve both performance and well-being among young athletes. The seminar provided a platform for exchanging ideas on how to better support the mental health needs of the youth through sports, stressing the importance of nurturing mental resilience alongside physical skills.
