Punjab University Hosts ‘Meet the Author’ Event to Explore Diverse Literary Themes

Lahore, The Punjab University Library Book Club recently held a ‘Meet the Author’ event in their auditorium, featuring discussions with Dr. Muhammad Ahsan Rana and Prof. Dr. Nasir Abbas Nayyar, who presented their latest literary works to an engaged audience.

According to University of the Punjab, Dr. Muhammad Ahsan Rana, an Associate Professor of Social Policy from LUMS, delved into his book ‘Hain Kawakib Kuch’, which examines Welfare Capitalism and its impact on Pakistan’s economy and society. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Nasir Abbas Nayyar from the Institute of Urdu Language and Literature discussed his book titled “Coloniality, Modernity, and Urdu Literature”. He highlighted the profound influence of colonial modernity on the development of modern Urdu literature, exploring its historical complexities and contemporary relevance.

The event was marked by a deep appreciation for the nuanced perspectives the authors brought to their subjects, enhancing the academic dialogue at the university.
