35% of Pakistanis believe that Pakistan is facing water shortages because new dams are not being built: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan 

Islamabad, August 05, 2021 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 35% of Pakistanis believe that Pakistan is facing water shortages because new dams are not being built while 26% attribute the reason for water shortages in Pakistan to God’s wrath.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the four provinces was asked the following question, “Nowadays, various areas of Pakistan are facing water shortages. What do you think is the biggest cause of this?” In response to this question, 35% attributed it to new dams not being built, 15% attributed it to no rainfall, 6% attributed it to global climate change, 26% attributed it to God’s wrath, 12% did not know while 6% did not respond.

Question: “Nowadays, various areas of Pakistan are facing water shortages. What do you think is the biggest cause of this?”
