Faisalabad Seminar Honors the Martyrdom of Hazrat Ali with a Message of Devotion

Faisalabad, The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at the Saleem campus of The University of Faisalabad held a seminar titled “The Sacrifice of Hazrat Ali (Karram-Allah-Wajhahu); Lesson in Devotion and Loyalty” on the occasion of 21st Ramadan-ul-Mubarak. The event, aimed at commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali and exploring the themes of devotion and loyalty exemplified by his life, was attended by faculty members, students, and notable city poetess Prof Dr. Naseem Sehrai as the chief guest.

According to The University of Faisalabad, the seminar began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat-e-Rasool Maqbool (SAW), followed by a performance by Ms. Ayesha Batool, a renowned Naat Khawan, and students who paid homage through Manaqib. Prof Dr. Naseem Sehrai, in her address, reflected on the significance of ‘Jihad’ and the virtuous life of Hazrat Ali, drawing from historical and religious texts. The event concluded with recitations of Drood o Salam and a collective prayer led by Ms. Ayesha Batool.

Fatima Jinnah Women University Offers Diploma Courses in Islamic Studies

Rawalpindi, Fatima Jinnah Women University’s Department of Islamic Studies has announced the opening of admissions for its specialized diploma courses in Quran and Tajweed, as well as Calligraphy, providing a unique opportunity for students to gain a deeper understanding of Islamic teachings and art. The university aims to bridge the gap between traditional knowledge and modern educational approaches through these comprehensive courses.

According to Fatima Jinnah Women University, the diploma in Quran and Tajweed includes detailed instruction on Tajweed foundations, articulation points of Arabic letters (Makharij Al-Huroof), and rules of elongation (Sifaat without opposite). Students will also learn about Madd Rules, Noon Sakinah Rules, Meem Sakinah Rules, and rules of Qalqalah, along with other Tajweed principles like Tanween and Laam Rules.

Simultaneously, the diploma in Calligraphy focuses on the artistic and professional aspects of Kufic script, one of the oldest and most revered forms of Islamic calligraphy. This course aims to be more practical than theoretical, preparing students for professional-level calligraphy, and providing them with the skills to master the modern Kufic script.

The admissions process for these diplomas is now open, with a submission deadline of April 26th, 2024. The three-month-long courses will start on April 29th and run until July 26th, with classes scheduled every Friday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. The fee for each course is PKR 15,000.

The seminar was methodically divided into three distinct parts, each focusing on different aspects of local governance. Initially, students were introduced to the election procedures for local representatives and the formation of village councils.
