Phil) in English Literature Program. Karachi, July 17, 2023 (PPI-OT): Sindh Madressatul University (SMIU) has decided to celebrate foundation day week in connection with the 139th foundation day of Sindh Madressatul Islam in the first week of September 2023. This decision was taken in a meeting held here on Friday, July 14, 2023 at the university’s conference room. The meeting was chaired by Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai. It was decided that during the one-week celebrations, a Nationa. Seminar on Life, Struggle and Services of Khan Bahadur Hassanally Effendi will be organised, where prominent scholars and intellectuals present their research papers on Khan Bahadur Hassanally Effendi.

The meeting also decided that during the celebrations students of SMIU would present theatre, sing national songs, recite poetry and participate in other events. Different committees were formed to organise the 139th foundation day’s celebrations. Speaking in the meeting, Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai said SMIU was going to organise a mega event to mark 139th Foundation Day of SMI, which was a matchless institute of the country as it had served the nation for the last 139 years. It has also largely and positively impacted on the people of Pakistan in many ways.

Paying great tribute to the founder of SMI Khan Bahadur Hassanally Effendi, Dr. Sahrai said that Hassanally Effendi needed great recognition on the national level as he founded a great modern educational institute in 1885 that produced great leaders of the country including founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. Islamabad, July 17, 2023 (PPI-OT): On the directions of Worthy President, International Islamic University (IIU), Vice Presidents of the university visited the new academic block and the Students Facilitation Centre. They reviewed the process of shifting, allocation of offices, operationalization of the official work and use of modern technology for the facilitation of the students.

Vice President Female campus, Prof Dr. Samina Malik, Vice President Administration and Finance, Prof. Dr. Nabi Bux Jumani and Vice President Research and Enterprise/ Academics, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed were briefed about the shifting and allied new arrangements in the directorate of Academics and Students Facilitations Centre. They showed satisfaction on the speedy completion of the arrangements made for the new academic block and the students’ facilitation centre.

They opined that as per vision of Worthy President IIUI, the Directorate and Students Facilitation centre shall be equipped with modern technology, state of the art gadgets and well trained staff. They inspected various sections, assigned rooms, devised desks and various other locations dedicated for the Academics section. They also gave valuable directions about cafeterias set up, decoration, interior of the building, entry and exit points as well as overall arrangements in the building. In addition, they also recommended few changes to make the facility more valuable.

It is pertinent to mention here that Worthy IIUI President has said that this facilitation centre must be an exquisite place that should address the issues of students with the help of courteous officials and modern use of technology. He directed that the shifting process must be completed within this month.

Islamabad, July 17, 2023 (PPI-OT): An online webinar on Global Clean Energy Summit: Empowering Nations Towards a Green Future was held on July 13, 2023, Thursday.

Dr. Vaqar Ahmed, Joint Executive Director (SDPI), Islamabad gave the welcome remarks. Opening remarks were given by Ms. Lidia Wojtal, Project Lead, Agora Energiewende. Dr. Ute Collier, Deputy Director (Knowledge, Policy and Finance Centre), International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) was the keynote speaker. A large number of participants attended the webinar. Various options for renewable energy linked to low carbon technologies were discussed. Dr Ghulam Abbas from CCRD attended the webinar and recorded his feedback for achieving net zero target.
