Dhul-Hijjah: Spirituality and Charity with Alkhidmat

Lahore, June 23, 2023 (PPI-OT): Fasting in Dhul-Hijjah

Fasting during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah is a virtuous act that carries immense rewards. Following the example of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who fasted on the ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah, as well as other specific days throughout the year, fasting helps strengthen one’s connection with Allah and promotes self-discipline.

Understanding Qurbani in Islam

Qurbani, also known as Udhiyah, involves sacrificing an animal during Eid al-Adha to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience to Allah’s command. This act demonstrates Muslims’ devotion, gratitude, and submission to Allah. By understanding the significance of Qurbani, individuals can deepen their religious understanding and strengthen their faith.

Significance of Qurbani

Qurbani holds great importance in Islam as it allows Muslims to follow the noble example of Prophet Ibrahim and his family. By willingly sacrificing something valuable to please Allah, Muslims develop a sense of selflessness and humility. Qurbani symbolizes devotion and gratitude towards Allah’s blessings.

Benefits of Qurbani

Engaging in Qurbani brings numerous benefits. Firstly, it fosters a sense of connection to our religious history, allowing us to emulate the noble act of Prophet Ibrahim. Secondly, Qurbani provides an opportunity to distribute meat to the less fortunate, ensuring they can partake in the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Adha and experience the blessings of the festival. By engaging in Qurbani, Muslims can actively contribute to the well-being of others.

Performing Qurbani with Alkhidmat Foundation

Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan is an esteemed organization that facilitates the distribution of Qurbani meat to deserving individuals and communities. By donating to Alkhidmat Foundation, you can ensure that your Qurbani reaches those in need. Partnering with reputable organizations guarantees the efficient and ethical distribution of your donation, maximizing its impact.

Social and Economic Benefits of Qurbani

Engaging in Qurbani not only holds spiritual significance but also brings social and economic benefits to communities. By donating Qurbani animals, the demand for livestock increases, which, in turn, stimulates local economies in developing countries. This uplifts the quality of life for these communities, creating a positive ripple effect.

Hajj Steps

The month of Dhul-Hijjah is closely associated with the sacred pilgrimage of Hajj. Briefly mentioning the steps of Hajj, which include preparation and intention, entering the state of Ihram, performing Tawaf, Sa’i, shaving or clipping hair, resting and engaging in prayers, re-entering the state of Ihram, and arriving at Mina, emphasizes the significance of this pilgrimage within the context of Dhul-Hijjah.

Chairman Pakistan People’s Party and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s speech in the National Assembly

Karachi, June 23, 2023 (PPI-OT): Chairman Pakistan People’s Party and Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari speaking on the budget in the National Assembly said that he is thankful to the Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar for fulfilling the promise made by the Prime Minister not only to the people of Pakistan but also to the international community.

Chairman Bilawal said that he knows Ishaq Dar from his childhood and consider him an uncle. It is very difficult for young people to speak openly while keeping the due respect for the elders. He said that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto trained him in a way that he always has highest respect and regard for his elders. He thanked Ishaq Dar for allocating amount for the reconstruction and relief for the last year’s flood affected people. He said that we should speak in a positive manner in politics so the issues are resolved. It is necessary to identify the issue for its resolution.

Foreign Minister said that Shehbaz Sharif is prime minister of the entire country. He is a PM of the PPP as well. Shehbaz Sharif witnessed the destruction of last year’s floods and promised the flood affected people to help them. Foreign Minister said that the work ethics of the PM is exemplary and we need to work day and night in these difficult circumstances. We need to strengthen PM’s hands. We all worked hard during last year’s floods. We invited the Secretary General of the United Nations to visit the flood hit areas. His schedule was very busy but he took time out to come to Pakistan and personally visit the areas hit by the floods. We mobilized the entire world and the countries of the world agreed to help us out. Due to our seriousness, we held Resilient Pakistan conference in Geneva where different countries of the world and the financial institutions promised 9 billion dollars help to Pakistan. We have to reconstruct what was destroyed by the floods. We need to be ready for the effects of climate change in future as well. We have to turn to green Pakistan with green energy and other structural changes with climate adaptation. This will also create economic benefits for Pakistan. We can get new opportunities of employment for our youth by changing ourselves with the concept of green energy and renewable energy.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that if we forget our promises made to the people of Pakistan and the world then we will have no credibility. We still have to fulfill our promises made to the people of Pakistan and the world. If we do not speak the truth to the people, then there will be no credibility. A former prime minister used to tell lies all the time. He tried to speak 100% lies. He has left no credibility today. We have to face and defeat the populous politics. Populist politics is based on lies. Recently there was a president in the USA who did the same populous politics but when he crossed the red line then action was taken against all those who crossed the red line and attacked the parliament building in the USA. The USA had to restore the writ of the state so it closed all the social media account of that president. On social media that president was telling lies to the people and wanted the elections in the USA null and void by declaring them rigged elections. Here in Pakistan similar efforts were made to defeat the no-confidence motion against a prime minister. We in Pakistan did not close the social media accounts of Imran Khan which means that we are more democratic than the USA.

We witnessed violence by Imran Khan and his party in Islamabad and Lahore. Lahore was turned into a battleground. Even then we did not take any action. We were more democratic than the USA. On 9 May Imran Khan and his party crossed the red line. They burnt down the memorial of martyrs. There is no country in the world which allows attacks on Military installations such as GHQ and Jinnah House. This was not politics but outright terrorism. This cannot happen in the USA or the UK. These people who attacked on 9 May never believed in democracy or the constitution but continued to spread disinformation. They wanted to hide behind democracy. These people never believed in democracy or the constitution and now want reconciliation instead of their own accountability. Chairman Bilawal said that if they think that there is a soft corner in the PPP then he on the floor of the assembly say that there is no truth in it and the PPP has no soft corner for them. As far as the military courts are concerned, they are for terrorist. We are opposed to the use of Military courts for political purposes. If the military installations are attacked, then they will be tried accordingly.

He said that if a political party uses the tactics of terrorists then state has to restore its writ. The undemocratic politicians who are doing politics for the last 30 years undemocratically are talking about democracy after the attacks were conducted. If we do not restore the writ of the state, then we may lock all those institutions. The country cannot be run like this. We need a civilized and political opposition. Imran has himself brought his politics in a blind alley. He should pay for it not the democracy. We have to forge a consensus for political and economic stability in the country. We have to put an end to the politics of division because without this there could be no stability. We may have policy and political differences but we have to create and restore the spirit of the Charter of Democracy (CoD). The CoD is the basis through which we can bring the political stability.

In the end, Foreign Minister said that the Defense Minister mentioned the joint communique of India and the USA. The Foreign Office will issue a rejoinder for it but he thinks that Pakistan should be a bit at a distance from world politics. We should look inward and if we correct ourselves then we will be able to achieve our international targets. Pakistan is standing on its own strength and will continue to do so. Pakistan is the country which suffered the most by the terrorism and we have had far more casualties due to terrorism than India and the USA or any other country. We defeated these terrorists during our government of 2008-13. It is so unfortunate that terrorism has become an issue for us again because of the policies of Imran Khan. We think that the issue of terrorists must not be a subject of geo-politics. We can fight terrorism together in the world and it should not become an issue of geo-politics.
