Ph.D. Assistantships (03)

Monthly Stipend and Fees: Rs 25000 plus Fees up to Rs 5000 pm

Eligibility: The candidate must have enrolled in the Ph.D. at IICT, MUET in one of the following programs: Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Computer Systems, Software, Biomedical Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering.

Must have appeared /qualified Comprehensive Examination

Hybrid Wind and Photovoltaic Power Generation with Energy Storage,

Development of Track Condition Monitoring System Using Onboard Sensing Device,

Eligibility: The candidate must have enrolled in Master’s program in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Computer Systems, Software, Biomedical Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering and must have finished two semesters of course work having the result of above 3.5 CGPA.

KSBL signed an agreement with Abbott Laboratories 

Karachi, December 23, 2021 (PPI-OT):KSBL Executive Education signed an agreement with Abbott Laboratories Pakistan on the 6th if December 2021 to offer Abbott’s first line Sales Team / Managers a strong foundation program on the lines of MBA education. The program is designed for a group of high potential sales personnel with the aim to upgrade their knowledge and skill base. The program also covers the following learning objectives:

To build the domain knowledge across business functions

To impart problem solving and decision-making skills via case studies for different business situation

To develop business acumen, market orientation and holistic thinking in analysing complex managerial decisions

The program was attended by the top leadership from Abbott Pakistan along with the first group of 30 participants.

Overwhelming Registration by Young Pakistanis to Join the 17th Youth Parliament Pakistan: Registration process is now closed 

Islamabad, December 23, 2021 (PPI-OT):After receiving an overwhelming response from the Youth of Pakistan, for submitting Expressions of Interest to join the 17th Youth Parliament Pakistan, the registration process is now closed.

Aiming to inculcate the culture and values of democracy in the youth of Pakistan, registration process for the 17th Youth Parliament Pakistan was launched on October 17, 2021. In the 60-day time frame, highest number of Expressions of Interests have been received for 17th YPP from young Pakistanis living in Pakistan and overseas which reflect the enthusiasm of Pakistan’s youth to contribute to Pakistan’s development. With the close in the registration process, the Youth Parliament Secretariat has initiated the process of review and short-listing for finalising membership of the 17th Youth Parliament. Final selection will be shared with candidates by the end of January 2022.

In order to have adequate representation of young Pakistanis from all constituencies of the National Assembly, expressions of intertest are still open but only for the following three constituencies:

1. NA-25 Nowshera-I

2. NA-195 Rajanpur-III

3. NA-228 Tando Muhammad Khan

Young Pakistanis who are registered voters in these constituencies are invited to submit their Expressions of Interest as soon as possible. Expressions of Interests can only be submitted online which can be accessed here.

The YPP Secretariat deeply appreciates and would like to thank all the individuals and entities who have promoted the message of Youth Parliament across Pakistan and around the World to facilitate overwhelming response by young Pakistanis. We thank Pakistani missions abroad and our partners especially our media partner – Jang-Geo Group – for facilitating effective communication of the YPP message across Pakistan and overseas.

The 17th Youth Parliament has 300 seats for which young Pakistanis will be selected from all 272 National Assembly general constituencies as well as from Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Special seats are allocated in YPP for Young Pakistanis or young persons of Pakistani origin residing overseas. The 17th Youth Parliament has a term of one (1) year and its activities will mainly be conducted online alongside atleast one optional 5-day residential session to be held in-person at Islamabad.

Christmas Celebrations at LUMS

Lahore, December 23, 2021 (PPI-OT):LUMS organised a heart-warming Christmas celebration for all staff members outside Executive Dining Hall on December 21, 2021. The arrangements were made by the Human Resources, LUMS International Office, Office of Accessibility, and Inclusion, Co-Curricular Activities and Campus Climate Unit.

The event began with an exciting quiz put together by Daniel Paul and Arooj Shams which was based on questions related to Christmas and interesting facts about LUMS. The winners were awarded gift hampers. This was followed by games and performances. Faisal Kheiri, Interim Director, HR, and Director IST highlighted the importance of getting together and celebrating after a long lockdown. He mentioned how important it is to appreciate each moment we spend together.

After the cake cutting ceremony, a chef from PDC presented a song in Punjabi. The celebration ended with a hi-tea that was organised by PDC, which included Christmas cookies and BBQ. Mr. Kheiri, Ms. Nuzhat Kamran, Director of Advancement, Dr. Farrukh A. Khan, Faculty Director for LUMS International Office, and Dr. Angbeen Atif Mirza, Faculty Director for Centre for Accessibility and Inclusivity were also part of the celebrations.

IoBM wins Badminton (Boys) Championship

Karachi, December 23, 2021 (PPI-OT):IoBM successfully defended its title and won the HEC Intervarsity Zone “G” Badminton (Boys) Championship 2021-22 on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. In the semi-finals, IoBM defeated Hamdard University (3-0). IoBM and IBA played the finals that IoBM won comprehensively (3-0) to win the Championship. The matches were played at the multi-purpose sports area on the IoBM campus. It was streamed live on social media. IoBM’s President, Mr. Talib S. Karim, and Executive Director, Ms. Sabina Mohsin distributed awards among the players during the closing ceremony.

Iqbal Day and its Significance

Lahore, December 23, 2021 (PPI-OT):A prestigious event on ‘Iqbal’ was organized by the Department of Politics and International Relations-FASS in collaboration with ‘Dabistan-e-Iqbal’ at the main auditorium of the University of Central Punjab. The essential purpose of this event was to make students acquainted with the true spirit of Iqbal’s ideology and philosophy. It also aimed at conceptualizing and disseminating the intellectual, political, philosophical and poetic work of Iqbal.

The chief guest of this program was the president of Dabistan-e-Iqbal, Mian Iqbal Salahuddin (Grandson of Iqbal). He graced the event along with the executive members of his organization, Dabistan-e-Iqbal. Mian Iqbal Salahuddin addressed the students about the vision of Iqbal. He elucidated Iqbal’s ideology of a prosperous nation linked with the personal development of individuals.

Moreover, he focused on a life of creativity and practicality, personality formation with freedom of choice, self-reliance, and the full use of possible latent capacities. He also displayed the breath-taking videos of Iqbal’s poetry. He concluded the session by motivating the students to formulate a creative and tolerant society based on Iqbal’s vision.

Mian Iqbal’s presentation was followed by a question-answer session, in which queries of students about Iqbal were answered. In the end, all students were appreciated for their presence, and especially the management team of department students were applauded for their maximum participation in making the event possible. The event concluded with the Vote of thanks by the Dean FASS, Prof. Dr Fehmida Sultana. She also presented souvenirs to the guest.
