University of Sindh Advances in Accreditation for Environmental and Nutritional Science Programs

Jamshoro, The University of Sindh has successfully completed the accreditation process for its Environmental Sciences and Nutrition and Food Technology programs. This significant step was marked by a visit from the National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC), which evaluated the university’s facilities, interacted with students and faculty, and provided recommendations to enhance the educational offerings.

According to University of Sindh, the NAEAC team, led by Chairman Dr. Fayyazul Hasan, inspected the university’s laboratories and classrooms and held discussions with Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro. Other team members included Professor Dr. Inayatullah Rajpar from Sindh Agricultural University Tando Jam and Professor Dr. Ijaz Hussain Soomro from the Institute of Food Science and Technology, along with Secretary Dr. Abdul Ghaffar. Their evaluations concluded with positive feedback and constructive suggestions for both programs.

During the visit, the accreditation team recommended the establishment of a new food processing and baking unit for the Nutrition and Food Technology program, which led to the Vice Chancellor’s announcement of funding 30 lakh rupees for this initiative. For the Environmental Science program, the team advised the construction of a new building to accommodate more students and the recruitment of additional faculty to meet educational demands.

The team praised the efforts of the university in maintaining educational quality and encouraged continuous improvement to further elevate the standards of the involved academic programs. This endorsement by the NAEAC marks a pivotal advancement for the University of Sindh, reinforcing its commitment to providing top-tier education in the sciences.
