Chitral, August 31, 2022 (PPI-OT):Green Day was observed at the University of Chitral on 29/08/2022. The event was organized by the Department of Botany in collaboration with the Forest Department Chitral. The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zahir Shah graced the occasion as Chief Guest Dr. Nadeem Hassan, Administrative officer at the University of Chitral formally welcomed the guests.

Agriculturists and soil conservation experts also participated in the program. The Vice-Chancellor said that Global warming has become a reality and the only solution to the problem is a plantation of more trees. Today climate change is the biggest threat to human survival. Mr. Ajaz Ahmed from the forest department Chitral highlighted the role of the Forest Department in ecosystem restoration. Mr. Hafiz Ullah, lecturer in the Department of Botany said that the recent flood has inundated the biodiversity of Chitral.

Human input is needed to bring back the lost biodiversity. Dr. Ishfaq Hameed, Head of the Department of Botany thanked the guests for their precious time and input. The Honourable Vice Chancellor planted Deodar saplings to mark the start of the green day celebrations. Pomegranate saplings were also distributed among the students and university employees.

Chitral, August 11, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Honourable Vice Chancellor, faculty members, and Administrative staff welcome the Honourable President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi on his one-day visit to the University of Chitral. We hope this visit of the Honourable President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan will resolve the long-standing issues of the University of Chitral like land acquisition for the University of Chitral, funding Issues, and other important issues. The University of Chitral is a flagship project of the PTI Government.

Chitral, July 27, 2022 (PPI-OT):Fifth Syndicate Meeting of the University of Chitral. The fifth syndicate meeting of the University of Chitral was held on 25.07.2022 under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Zahir Shah, Vice Chancellor, University of Chitral. Representatives of the Higher Education Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Higher Education Commission, the Establishment Division, and the Finance Department Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participated in the meeting. All the points of the agenda presented by the university in the meeting were approved after a thorough discussion.

Chitral, July 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):A Project entitled “Promoting Education for Sustainable Mountain Development through Curriculum Enrichment and Capacity Building “has been approved. The project is monitored by the United States Educational Foundation (USEFP) under the US-Pakistan University Partnerships Grants Program, funded by the United States Government.

Prof. Dr. Zahir Shah, the Vice-Chancellor, University of Chitral acknowledged the efforts of the Directorate of ORIC and termed it a big achievement. This Project will help to enrich and enhance the standard of research in the University of Chitral. Dr. Muhammad Romman, Deputy Director ORIC, University of Chitral, and the focal person of this project requested for submission of research proposals from the academicians of the University of Chitral.
