Clay sculpture workshop

Faisalabad, October 28, 2021 (PPI-OT):Workshop on Clay Sculpture organized at Department of Design and Interiors, with facilitator and instructor Rida Yawar, an architect and entrepreneur, and sculpture enthusiast. The students participated enthusiastically and eagerly exploring clay mediums for design abstraction, converting basic sketches into relief pieces that will be used to cast silicone moulds and plaster of Paris sculptures.

Eighth Convocation of the University of Faisalabad

Faisalabad, October 20, 2021 (PPI-OT):Eighth Convocation of The University of Faisalabad and Seventh Convocation of University Medical and Dental College was held on October 16, 2021. Choudhry Zaheer-ud-Din, Minister for Public Prosecution, Punjab was the Chief Guest. Prof Dr Maroof Aziz Khan, Pro Vice Chancellor, University of Health Sciences Lahore also graced the occasion. Mr Muhammad Haider Amin, Chairman Board of Governors, TUF.

Prof (Meritorious) Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman, Rector, Ms Zahida Maqbool, Additional Registrar, Prof Dr Aamir Ali Choudhry, Principal University Medical and Dental College, Prof Dr Farrukh Imran, Principal (Dental) UMDC, Prof Dr Muhammad Akram Malik, Vice Principal UMDC, Deans, Heads of departments, faulty members, graduates and their parents were present. While addressing the audience Ch Zaheer-ud-Din congratulated the young graduates and advised them to play their role for the development and prosperity the country.

He appreciated the philanthropic services of Madinah Foundation in education and health sector. “The ranking of the University of Faisalabad amongst top 500 Universities of the world is highly appreciable and TUF is a role model in private sector”, he added. Mr Muhammad Haider Amin in his address congratulated the graduates and briefed the audience about the remarkable performance of the university during past 19 years.

In his address Prof Dr Maroof Aziz Khan, Pro Vice Chancellor UHS advised the graduates of UMDC to enter in professional life with aim to serve suffering humanity. Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman, Prof Dr Aamir Ali Choudhry, Ms Zahida Maqbool, Additional Registrar also addressed the audience.

In Convocation 1308 graduates from TUF and UMDC were awarded degrees, while 28 promising graduates were awarded gold medals, 38 silver and 27 bronze medals. Faculty and staff members who rendered dedicated services to TUF, UMDC and MTH for ten years were also awarded medals and prizes. The Convocation was dedicated to Great Pakistani Scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan (Late).

TUF signs MoU with International Cultural Communication Centre Malaysia 

Faisalabad, September 22, 2021 (PPI-OT):The University of Faisalabad (TUF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with International Cultural Communication Centre Malaysia (ICCCM). Signing of MoU and Virtual Document Exchange Ceremony held on September 18, 2021. Ms Loo Hui Ann, Director ICCCM and on behalf of TUF Prof (Meritorious) Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman, Acting Rector signed the document.

Ms Zahida Maqbool, Additional Registrar and Dr Amna Javed, Manager International Linkages, TUF also witnessed the ceremony. The purpose of this MoU is to develop academic and educational cooperation on the basis of equality and reciprocity and to promote relations and mutual understanding between both institutions. Both the institutions agreed to cooperate in their mutual interest for a range of Higher Education and Research and Innovation activities.

The University of Faisalabad organizes one day workshop on “Leprosy Management” 

Faisalabad, September 18, 2021 (PPI-OT):Leprosy is one of the infectious skin diseases which cause serious complications in its patients. For the effective management of leprosy, the Department of Dermatology at The University of Faisalabad organized one day workshop on “Leprosy Management” in collaboration with Aid to Leprosy patients Pakistan and World Health Organization for postgraduate trainees and doctors.

Director Rawalpindi Leprosy Hospital and winner of the “German Order of Merit” award, Dr Chris Schmotzer facilitated a comprehensive workshop, starting from clinical features of leprosy to management and case demonstration. It equipped all the postgraduate doctors and other attendees with recent and useful updates to timely diagnose and manage leprosy. The session was concluded by the Head of Dermatology Department, Prof Dr Tanzeela Khalid. She thanked Dr Chris for her efforts and presented the University memento to her.
