Lahore, June 27, 2021 (PPI-OT):Prominent political personalities of NA-163 Vehari Ayub Bandisha, Zahid Bandisha, Owais Bandisha and Peer Yaqoob Khagga called on Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi and Federal Housing Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema here today (Sunday) and announced to join Pakistan Muslim League (PML). On this occasion, Ghazanfar Ilyas Bandisha, Peer Haroon Shah Khagga and Peer Zaman Shah Khagga were also present.

 

Ch Parvez Elahi said that for strengthening democracy there is need for promoting politics of tolerance and courage, doors of our party are open for every patriot, every party has its own politics and objective, our party’s objective is progress of Pakistan and welfare of the people. Ch Parvez Elahi said that I am grateful to all parties who accepted my suggestion in the Senate election and the result is before everyone. He said that I am grateful to all parties for participating appreciably in the proceedings of the Punjab Assembly and extending full cooperation.

 

Tariq Bashir Cheema said that due to the efforts of Ch Parvez Elahi, no wheel and deal was in the Punjab for the first time in the Senate election, thanks to Almighty Allah every party got its right. Thanking Ayub Bandisha said that people still remember services of Ch Parvez Elahi as the Chief Minister, projects which he had launched are still running successfully, inspired by the spirit of serving the people of Ch Parvez Elahi, he has decided to join Pakistan Muslim League along with colleagues.

Lahore, June 26, 2021 (PPI-OT):Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar called on Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in his Chamber here today (Friday). Provincial Law Minister Mohammad Basharat Raja, Secretary Punjab Assembly Mohammad Bhatti and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Tahir Khurshid were also present during the meeting. In the meeting satisfaction was expressed over completion of the process of approval of next financial year in an appreciable manner.

 

Praising the role of Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi in running the House smoothly and appreciably, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said that you conducted the House according to the parliamentary traditions on which I thought it proper to come and thank you in your chamber. He said that the government and allies MPAs cooperation in budget approval was ideal, presented people’s friendly budget and MPAs took full interest in its approval. He said that Punjab has embarked upon a path of progress; the previous government had left Punjab in problems and difficulties, now we are taking the province towards prosperity along with the allies.

 

Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi said that the House of the Assembly is the centre of hopes of the people, elected representatives can only be victorious before the people by focusing on the people’s problems, and was successful in running the House appreciably only with the cooperation of all MPAs.

Lahore, June 23, 2021 (PPI-OT):Meeting of the Special Committee No 13 was held under chairmanship of Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi in the Punjab Assembly here today (Wednesday). Meeting was participated by Law Minister Mohammad Basharat Raja, MPAs Malik Mohammad Ahmad Khan, Sajid Ahmad Khan, Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh, Malik Nadeem Kamran, Syed Usman Mahmood, Nawabzada Waseem Khan, Mian Shafi Mohammad, Malik Jamshed Altaf, Ms Sonia, Secretary Punjab Assembly Mohammad Khan Bhatti and D. G. Parliamentary Affairs Inayatullah Lak.

In the meeting all concerned officers presented written explanation regarding non-implementation of the 1122 law passed by the Punjab Assembly which Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi termed as satisfactory. It was unanimously decided in the Committee meeting that together with the Law Department Rescue-1122 Rules be made in accordance with the Act and presented to the Committee at the earliest which will be reviewed by the Committee. Decision about MPA Malik Mohammad Ahmad Khan’s privilege being breached on no implementation of Rescue 1122 law will be taken in the committee meeting unanimously afterwards.

Lahore, June 22, 2021 (PPI-OT): Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvez Elahi called on former President and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari at Bilawal House. Ch Parvez Elahi inquired about the well-being of Asif Ali Zardari. The current political situation in the country and other issues of mutual interest were discussed in detail during the meeting. Asif Ali Zardari also inquired about the health of Chaudhry Shujat Hussain.

Ch Parvez Elahi said that he had come to thank Asif Ali Zardari for his support in the unopposed election of the Senate in Punjab. He said that he wanted to go to Karachi to meet Asif Zardari but he said that when I would come to Lahore then Insha-Allah we will meet there.

Lahore, June 22, 2021 (PPI-OT): Australian High Commissioner Dr Geoffrey Shaw along with four members delegation called on Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi, MNAs Moonis Elahi and Salik Hussain in the Assembly Chambers here today (Tuesday). On this occasion, Secretary Punjab Assembly Mohammad Khan Bhatti was also present. Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi conducted the delegation around the new building of the Punjab Assembly and the House, he also apprised about history of the assembly, rules of Procedure and parliamentary traditions including legislation done in the Punjab Assembly.

In the meeting, views were also exchanged about continuation of democratic system in Pakistan, strengthening of the institutions, supremacy of the parliament and other matters of personal interest. Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi said that seats have been reserved in the Pakistan assemblies for minorities, women have also been given representation in the national and provincial assemblies.

He said that Australia and Pakistan should benefit from each other expertise in livestock, education, health and trade sectors, there are vast opportunities for investment in Punjab. Ch Parvez Elahi said that the government and the civil society have performed fully against Corona Virus in Pakistan. Australian High Commissioner congratulated Ch Parvez Elahi on the completion of the new House of the Punjab Assembly.

Lahore, June 22, 2021 (PPI-OT): Meeting of the Special Committee No 13 was held under chairmanship of Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi in the Punjab Assembly here today (Monday). Meeting was participated by Law Minister Mohammad Basharat Raja, MPAs Malik Mohammad Ahmad Khan, Sajid Ahmad Khan, Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh, Malik Nadeem Kamran, Syed Usman Mahmood, Nawabzada Waseem Khan, Mian Shafi Mohammad, Malik Jamshed Altaf, Ms Sonia, Secretary Punjab Assembly Mohammad Khan Bhatti and D. G. Parliamentary Affairs Inayatullah Lak.

During the June 17 Assembly session MPA Malik Mohammad Ahmad Khan presented a privilege motion, during a meeting convened on that Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi had directed the concerned bureaucrats that they should submit a written explanation regarding non-implementation on Rescue-1122 law. However, in today’s meeting when questioned about not implementing the law they apologized for not submitting written explanation and seeking extension assured that they would submit written explanation in the next meeting.

Accepting this, Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi said that if no written explanation is not submitted in the next meeting then legal action will be taken against the responsible. Provincial Law Minister Mohammad Basharat Raja and concerned officials held out assurance that the law will be implemented till the next meeting. Meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary S and GAD, Additional Chief Secretary Home, Secretary Regulation, Secretary I and C. Afterwards Ch Parvez Elahi adjourned the Special Committee meeting till June 23.
