Lahore, June 22, 2021 (PPI-OT): Meeting of the Special Committee No 13 was held under chairmanship of Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi in the Punjab Assembly here today (Monday). Meeting was participated by Law Minister Mohammad Basharat Raja, MPAs Malik Mohammad Ahmad Khan, Sajid Ahmad Khan, Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh, Malik Nadeem Kamran, Syed Usman Mahmood, Nawabzada Waseem Khan, Mian Shafi Mohammad, Malik Jamshed Altaf, Ms Sonia, Secretary Punjab Assembly Mohammad Khan Bhatti and D. G. Parliamentary Affairs Inayatullah Lak.
During the June 17 Assembly session MPA Malik Mohammad Ahmad Khan presented a privilege motion, during a meeting convened on that Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi had directed the concerned bureaucrats that they should submit a written explanation regarding non-implementation on Rescue-1122 law. However, in today’s meeting when questioned about not implementing the law they apologized for not submitting written explanation and seeking extension assured that they would submit written explanation in the next meeting.
Accepting this, Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi said that if no written explanation is not submitted in the next meeting then legal action will be taken against the responsible. Provincial Law Minister Mohammad Basharat Raja and concerned officials held out assurance that the law will be implemented till the next meeting. Meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary S and GAD, Additional Chief Secretary Home, Secretary Regulation, Secretary I and C. Afterwards Ch Parvez Elahi adjourned the Special Committee meeting till June 23.
