Inaugural ceremony of “Faham Quran Short Course” was organized by IUB during the blessed days of Ramadan

Bahawalpur, March 31, 2023 (PPI-OT): The opening ceremony was held at Khawaja Ghulam Fareed Auditorium in Baghdad-Jeed Campus. Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, Dean Faculty of Biological and Chemical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shahzad Rana, Chairman Department of Media Studies, Dr. Sujeela Kausar, Director, Sirat Chair, Ex-President Bahawalpur Press Club, Naseer Ahmad Nasir participated and expressed their views. Dr. Zia-ur-Rehman Course Instructor, Chairman Department of Quranic Studies taught two lessons to the course participants. They made the participants recognize the symptoms using colours through multimedia. Hundreds of university students registered for the course.

The participants attended the class with great enthusiasm. Remember that this short course will continue every Tuesday and Wednesday throughout Ramadan. Wahab Riaz appreciated the curricular and co-curricular activities, research and development projects in the IUB

Bahawalpur, March 30, 2023 (PPI-OT): Caretaker Sports Minister Punjab Wahab Riaz appreciated the curricular and co-curricular activities, research and development projects in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Talking to Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob on the occasion of his visit to the Islamia University of Bahawalpur today, he said that the University exceptional performance in all fields is commendable.

The Vice-Chancellor told him on this occasion that under the E-Rozgar program, 10 badges have been graduated so far and foreign exchange worth crores of rupees has been earned. Similarly, Islamia University Bahawalpur is associated with various projects of Punjab Information Technology Board and the university students as well as the youth of the area are getting skills in freelancing courses and other fields. On the occasion of his visit to Sadiq Computing and Research Center, the provincial minister visited E-Rozgar and Plan 9 laboratories and met the students under training.

The provincial minister visited the newly constructed cricket ground at the University Sports Complex and termed it as an international standard stadium as the best gift for Bahawalpur. During his visit, the provincial minister also met the students of the University Sports Society and discussed the ongoing sports activities in the university. Governor Punjab chaired a meeting regarding the consortium built on topic of Character Building at Governor House Lahore

Bahawalpur, March 29, 2023 (PPI-OT): Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman chaired a meeting regarding the consortium built on top of Character Building at Governor House Lahore today. Convenor of Consortium Dr. Rukhsana Kotter and Vice Chancellor Government College University Sialkot besides Engineer Prof. Dr. Athar Mehboob, Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur, Dr. Sulaiman Tahir, Vice Chancellor Khawaja Farid University of Engineering and Information Technology Rahim Yar Khan, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Salim Vice Chancellor Mir Chakar Khan Rand University of Technology, DG Khan, Prof. Dr. Nabila Rehman Vice Chancellor University of Jhang, Prof. Dr. Murtaza Jafari Vice Chancellor National College of Arts and other members of the consortium participated. During the meeting, the Vice-Chancellors briefed the Governor Punjab about the progress made on the consortium on character development.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Punjab Muhammad Baligh Rahman said that the youth are the most valuable assets of the nation and they need to be given good education along with their moral training and character development. He said that teachers Ikram should tell the students good things about character building along with increasing the syllabus. The Governor of Punjab said that in our religion there is a lot of emphasis on high morals and character building. Governor Punjab directed the members of the Consortium on Character Building to submit final recommendations based on the research in the next meeting. He said that a plan of action will be decided in the light of the recommendations suggested by the consortium formed on character building in the next meeting.

Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rahman asked the consortium members to tell the students case studies of people who have achieved success in the society through hard work and merit. He said to mobilize the students for public awareness campaign on social media regarding character building. Governor Punjab further said that tell the students that there is eternal success in the truth and tell them not to believe what they hear on social media and do not spread it without research but do your own research. On this occasion, the consortium members made other suggestions including making community work mandatory for character building of students, using social media in character building.

Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, Dean Faculty of Chemical and Biological Sciences participated in the meeting held at Karachi

Bahawalpur, March 29, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, Dean Faculty of Chemical and Biological Sciences the Islamia University of Bahawalpur participated in the meeting held at Islamic World Academy of Science Karachi. During the meeting, emphasis was placed on promoting science and technology for socio-economic development in the OIC countries. The conference was jointly organized by the Standing Committee of Islamic Cooperation on Scientific and Technical Cooperation (OIC-COMSTECH) and the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) at the University of Karachi.

The challenges faced by the countries were to be discussed and how science and technology can help them to overcome these challenges. The conference also focused on STI-based socio-economic development in OIC countries and urged to come up with policy documents on various topics. This high-level conference will help policy makers to integrate science and technology into their national development agendas for OIC member countries. The conference was inaugurated by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. Several renowned scientists from the OIC country participated in the meeting/conference.

Dr. Saba Saeed, from the Institute of Physics IUB, represented the University in an international conference in Lahore

Bahawalpur, March 29, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Dr. Saba Saeed, Assistant Professor, the Institute of Physics the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, represented the institute and University in an international conference as an invited speaker. The conference was a joint venture between Department of Physics, Lahore College for Women University and Centre of Excellence in Solid State Physics, Punjab University Lahore. She presented her latest work on the synthesis of nanoparticles from the waste materials. She also emphasized on the role of women in the research and development and encouraged students to play their role in the development of society.

Her talk was highly applauded by the audience, and she received certificate by Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission. Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmad Buzdar, Director Institute of Physics and Dean Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences congratulated Dr. Saba Saeed and appreciated her participation in the conference.
