IUB has achieved the status of international university as per the vision of Banyan Jamia and Nawabin Bahawalpur

Bahawalpur, April 04, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has achieved the status of international university as per the vision of Banyan Jamia and Nawabin Bahawalpur. Under the direction of Vice-Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, the Directorate of International Linkages is actively working to admission international students to the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and is making international students a part of the university. Two students from the Republic of Yamen along with Director International Linkages Dr. Abid Shahzad met Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob. These students include Bashar Ahmad Abdullah Muhammad Mohsin and Muhammad Salim Ali Muhammad Saleh. Both have enrolled in BS Software Engineering in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob welcomed the two international students to Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Both the students expressed their feelings of love and respect to the leadership, Pakistani students and teachers of Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The students are very impressed with the university infrastructure and faculty and are keen to bring their fellow students to Islamia University of Bahawalpur in future. Director International Linkages said that many international students are contacting the directorate to join the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in the near future. He also informed that some ambassadors of brotherly countries are coming to the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in the near future for bilateral relations.

On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the Directorate of International Linkages in promoting international networking and cooperation and connecting with the outside world.

World Autism Day was celebrated in the Department of Applied Psychology, Islamia University, Bahawalpur

Bahawalpur, April 04, 2023 (PPI-OT):World Autism Day was celebrated in the Department of Applied Psychology, Islamia University, Bahawalpur, and students were made aware of Autism Spectrum Disorder. In this event, Noreen Mukhtar Clinical Psychologist from Special Education College spoke about her real life experiences with autistic children and their rehabilitation projects. Dr. Ahmed Bilal, Assistant Professor, informed the participants about these remarkable people. Those who are autistic and achieve success in their lives. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem, Chairman, Applied Psychology emphasized the need for diagnosis and timely identification of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in Pakistan.

In the end, Prof. Dr Rubina Bhati, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences praised the efforts of faculty and students of the department of Applied Psychology for organizing awareness session on autism spectrum disorder and said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur under the leadership of Engr Prof Dr Athar Mahboob is showing progress in every field including the social sciences and department of Applied Psychology is highlighting various issues relevant to psychological health of the society.

UK and Pakistani universities will work together to develop higher education linkages between UK and Pakistan

Bahawalpur, April 04, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Institute of Physics, the Islamia University Bahawalpur won the British Council Pak-UK Education Gateway Mobility Partnership Project for Faculty. Vice-Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob has said that this achievement is a manifestation of the high academic standards and international level teaching and research of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. In this partnership, UK and Pakistani universities will work together to develop higher education linkages between UK and Pakistan. The representative/applicant Universities from Pakistan and UK will design a rigorous short-term mobility program on different thematic areas.

Dr. Kaneez Rabia from the Institute of Physics, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Prof. Alan J. Drew from the Queen Marry University of London are playing the leading role in the project on the theme of Energy (generation, distribution, and conservation).The Pakistani team of this project consists of 11-Faculty members, 9 from the Institute of Physics, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, one from COMSATS University Islamabad, and one from the Govt. Sadiq College Women University, Bahawalpur. The UK team of this project consists of 8- Faculty members from Queen Marry University of London will also visit to the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Pakistan.

Through this program, there would be capacity building of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur faculty staff in advanced characterization and analysis techniques. A meeting with a number of other key players in the energy and batteries research area will be arranged by UK team. Examples are the “Batteries Innovation Centre” in Coventry and the Faraday Institution (representative universities, such as Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial, UCL, Sheffield, etc.). Different members of the team will identify their areas of future collaboration between the wider faculty of the Queen Marry University of London and other Universities in the UK. The detail about potential future funding schemes involving Pakistan-UK international collaboration in the energy arena will also be the agenda of this visit.

A scientific workshop will be arranged by the Institute of physics, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The research students and the faculty from Physics and chemistry department will get an opportunity to have one to one contact with the UK delegation, consequently broader collaborative opportunities. Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur congratulated the project team and appreciated the efforts of Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmad Buzdar, Dean Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Science and Dr. Kaniz Rabia, the project lead, to bring the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in collaboration with technologically advanced countries.

Bahawalpur, April 01, 2023 (PPI-OT): Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Islamia University Bahawalpur PhD Scholars Javed Ahmed and Sahresh Khaliq Open Defense of Research Thesis 03 April 2023, 10 am, will be held at Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Khawaja Farid Campus. The above scholars completed their research papers under the supervision of Dr. Mohsin Abbas Khan, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Islamia University, Bahawalpur.

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur organized a seminar titled “Media Studies Students and its Modern Age Requirements”

Bahawalpur, March 31, 2023 (PPI-OT): To deal with the challenges of today, media studies students have heavy responsibilities as they are the ones who have to deal with nerve-wracking situations in the near future. These views were expressed by Islamia University Media and Communication Studies Department Chairman Professor Dr. Muhammad Shahzad Rana while addressing a seminar. The topic of which was “Students of media studies and the demands of modern times”. Dr. Muhammad Shahzad said that our students are very knowledgeable and have amazing abilities.

He is very sensitive to the issues facing the nation. They know how to untangle the knots with the nail art, so we have a lot of expectations from them. The guest speakers included renowned broadcaster Prof. Shazia Naseeb Soomro, Prof. Nazleen Tahsin and Prof. Qudratullah Shahzad. He said that with the passage of time, new changes have taken place in the attitudes of the media, which are adversely affecting the values. Today, social media is the most powerful medium of communication. It has a direct impact on human attitudes and moods. His power is so great that the skills are reflected in the faults and the faults in the skills. Heroes are becoming Zeros and Zeros are emerging as heroes. He who has his whip in his hand is determining the direction and the speed ahead will be faster.

The speakers said that the youth should keep this in mind It must be kept that their bright values are not trampled in this storm. For this, they will need to be hardworking, skilled in arts and very intelligent. The speakers also said that the most important role at this time is that of teachers, the way they guide their students will determine their path. A large number of teachers and students of Media and Communication Studies participated in the seminar.
