Shaykh-ul-Islam Highlights Quranic Immersion as Key to Faith Preservation in Lahore

Lahore, During a recent keynote speech in the ongoing Itikaf City event, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the founding leader of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI), underscored the importance of spiritual inquiry and immersion in the Holy Quran as essential practices for the preservation of faith. Addressing thousands of participants, Dr. Qadri emphasized that in the face of modern challenges to faith, including the pervasive influence of technology, maintaining and strengthening belief requires concerted effort and continuous engagement with Quranic teachings.

According to Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Dr. Qadri pointed out that the modern era presents numerous challenges that weaken faith, with mobile phones singled out as a significant facilitator of this weakening. Despite the guidance provided by the Quran, there remains a constant need for guidance to navigate the trials of disbelief, particularly among the youth. Dr. Qadri lamented the shift from traditional healing centers to what he described as “illness centers,” referring to online platforms that propagate disbelief, including groups self-identifying as ex-Muslims.

Dr. Qadri stressed that the preservation of faith is not only a matter of individual effort but also requires the positive influence of good company and companionship. He encouraged maintaining relationships with those who seek closeness to Allah, suggesting that such associations can impart some manifestations, effects, and qualities of divine meetings. Citing the Quran, Dr. Qadri reminded attendees that those who strive in righteous endeavors and remain steadfast are further guided by Allah.

The message delivered by Dr. Qadri at Itikaf City reflects MQI’s commitment to fostering a deeper understanding of Islamic teachings and promoting practices that strengthen faith amidst the challenges of contemporary life. His emphasis on Quranic immersion and spiritual inquiry highlights the organization’s approach to religious education and moral guidance.
