Lahore, Punjab University Library organized an introductory program for the books ‘Ghubar-e-Khatir’ by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and ‘Mecca: The Sacred City’ by Ziauddin Sardar. The event featured insightful discussions on the historical and literary significance of these works.
According to University of the Punjab, the program was attended by Chief Librarian Dr. Muhammad Haroon Usmani, Director General of Public Libraries Punjab Kashif Mazoor, Associate Professor Dr. Shahzeb Khan from the Institute of English Studies, faculty members, and students. Kashif Mazoor delivered an engaging talk on “Ghubar-e-Khatir,” offering an in-depth analysis of Maulana Azad’s life, his role in the Indian freedom struggle, and his unique prose style. Dr. Shahzeb Khan discussed the historical and religious importance of Mecca, as depicted in Ziauddin Sardar’s book. Dr. Muhammad Haroon Usmani concluded the event by thanking the speakers and the audience for their active participation, highlighting the exchange of ideas that characterizes the book club programs at the university.
