Arsalan Khalid Demands Resignation of Sindh Chief Minister Amid Load Shedding Crisis

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi General Secretary, Arsalan Khalid, has called for the immediate resignation of Chief Minister Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, following a severe wave of load shedding in Karachi, criticizing the provincial government's handling of the crisis.

According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Khalid rejected the recent statement by Chief Minister Shah, labeling his verbal condemnation of the 18-hour power outages as evidence of governmental incompetence. Khalid stated that Shah's portrayal of helplessness reflects poorly on his ability to manage the province and demanded he step down if unable to address the issue effectively.

Khalid also criticized the Sindh government for its failure to provide alternative energy solutions, accusing Shah of displaying subservience to the federation while lamenting his own powerlessness. He questioned the efficacy of the Thar Coal project, arguing that the resources should first benefit the people of Sindh rather than being allocated to the federation for electricity generation.

The PTI official further accused the provincial rulers of passivity in the face of Karachi's energy crisis, suggesting that the Chief Minister's attempts to deflect blame onto the federation do not absolve him from years of governance failures.
