Punjab and Iran Explore Enhanced Sports and Cultural Ties

Lahore, In a significant development to bolster bilateral relations, Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar met with Iranian Consul General Mehran Movahhedfar at the Iranian Consulate General, discussing the potential for sports collaborations and cultural exchanges between Pakistan and Iran.

According to Sports Board Punjab, the meeting emphasized the expansion of sports relations, with plans to organize joint cultural and sports programs and establish a functional sports committee between the two nations. Minister Khokhar highlighted the intention to strengthen ties through diverse areas such as sports, culture, education, research, IT, science, and technology.

The discussions also celebrated Pakistan’s reputation in the global sports industry, particularly noting Sialkot’s renown for producing world-class sports equipment, including the internationally acclaimed footballs. The Iranian Consul General acknowledged the rich talent in various sports across Pakistan, expressing enthusiasm for future cooperative ventures.

The engagement concluded with the presentation of a souvenir to Minister Khokhar, symbolizing the goodwill and prospective partnership between Punjab and Iran in fostering sports and cultural connections.
