PTI Leader Criticizes Government Over Ramadan Inflation, Vows White Paper

Lahore, Musrat Jamshed Cheema, a senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has voiced strong criticism against the government’s handling of inflation during Ramadan, accusing it of failing to address the people’s grievances. Cheema announced plans to expose the government’s shortcomings through a forthcoming white paper, underscoring the need for improved efficiency in existing departments rather than the establishment of new ones to curb governmental spending.

According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Cheema’s statement highlighted the disconnect between the government’s positive reports and the public’s growing dissatisfaction amidst rampant inflation. He accused the Muslim League (N) of securing power in the Federation and Punjab through a “stolen mandate” and challenged the administration to fulfill its responsibility to solve the people’s problems. Cheema’s critique extended to the government and bureaucracy’s inability to enforce official price lists, leading to unchecked profiteering. He argued for enhancing the performance of current departments instead of inflating government expenses by creating new ones.

This stance reflects PTI’s strategic approach to addressing economic challenges and governmental inefficiency, positioning itself as a watchdog ready to hold the government accountable for its alleged failings. By promising to publish a white paper, Cheema aims to bring these issues to the forefront, advocating for policy shifts that prioritize the welfare of the Pakistani populace over bureaucratic expansion.
