PRCS Marks Pakistan Day with Grand Ceremony in Islamabad

Islamabad, The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) celebrated Pakistan Day with fervor and a sense of national pride during a ceremony held at its National Headquarters in Islamabad on Friday. The event, attended by high-ranking officials and international delegates, underscored the historical significance of March 23, 1940, in the creation of Pakistan.

According to Pakistan Red Crescent Society, the ceremony featured the Secretary General of PRCS, Muhammad Abidullah Khan, and notable guests including Mr. Peter (Piwi) Ophoff, Head of Delegation for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Pakistan, Mr. Nicolas Lambert, Head of Delegation for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Pakistan, and representatives from the German Red Cross, Turkish Red Crescent, and Norwegian Red Cross. Staff, volunteers, and students also participated in the day’s events, adding to the communal spirit.

The highlight of the celebration was the flag hoisting by Secretary General Muhammad Abidullah Khan, which was met with applause and the playing of national anthems, reflecting the unity and aspirations of the Pakistani people. The program was enriched with musical performances and tableaus by students from private schools, contributing to the day’s patriotic ambiance.

Chairman PRCS, Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari, in his message, paid homage to the significance of March 23 in Pakistan’s history as the day when the foundation for an independent homeland was laid. He lauded Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s leadership and the sacrifices of the ancestors, encouraging contributions towards the nation’s prosperity and advancement.

Muhammad Abidullah Khan, during the ceremony, spoke on the historical relevance of Pakistan Day, reminding attendees of the nation’s journey towards independence and the ongoing commitment to its growth and well-being.

The ceremony concluded with collective prayers for the peace and prosperity of Pakistan, symbolizing hope and a reinvigorated commitment to the nation’s future.
