Karachi, The promotion of cricket at the grassroots level by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi was praised at the closing ceremony of the Inter-College Ramadan T-20 Cup in Karachi. Syed Najmi Alam, Adviser to the Chief Minister of Sindh, commended the initiative, highlighting its potential to cultivate future cricketing talent. The tournament, supported by PCB and organized by the Regional Cricket Association Karachi (RCAK), concluded with Government Jinnah College claiming victory at Eidgah Ground Nazimabad.
According to Regional Cricket Association Karachi, the ceremony was marked by acknowledgments of the PCB’s role in nurturing young talent. Alam emphasized the significance of the support provided by PCB to the players and expressed optimism about the return of cricket grounds previously managed by Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to RCAK. The tournament showcased promising talents, with Government Jinnah College defeating Government College 36B Landhi No. 4 in the final match.
Tabish Javed, Senior Vice President of RCAK, assured continued efforts to foster cricket in the region. Meanwhile, Khalid Nafees, Chairman of the Tournament Committee, voiced concerns about the need to reclaim the grounds for improving club cricket infrastructure in Karachi.
The final match saw Government Jinnah College securing a win, with notable performances by players like Kashan Faheem and Naeem Gul, who received the man of the final match award. The ceremony concluded with prize distribution, recognizing the achievements of the participating teams and individual talents.
