PCB and SBBWU Partner to Develop Women’s Cricket Academy in Peshawar

Lahore, The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a new partnership with Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU), Peshawar, aiming to advance women’s cricket by developing a cricket academy. This collaboration involves leasing SBBWU’s cricket ground to the PCB, marking a significant step in enhancing facilities for aspiring women cricketers in the region.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the lease agreement will pave the way for establishing a state-of-the-art cricket academy dedicated to the development of women’s cricket. This initiative is set to provide top-tier training facilities and services, with the added advantage of hostel facilities at SBBWU, facilitating access for women cricketers across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Tania Mallick, Head of Women’s Cricket at PCB, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating that the establishment of the academy aligns with the PCB’s vision to foster the growth of women’s cricket in Pakistan. The academy is expected to become a hub for skill development, contributing significantly to the advancement of women’s cricket in the region.

SBBWU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Safia Ahmed also expressed her support for the initiative and her eagerness to collaborate with the PCB for the betterment of women’s cricket.
