Pasban Democratic Party Condemns Police Violence Against Baloch Protesters in Islamabad

Islamabad, The Pasban Democratic Party has strongly criticized the treatment of Baloch protesters by the police in Islamabad, describing it as a shameful act. The party called for immediate government action to address the issue of missing persons and to provide justice to the affected families.

According to Pasban Democratic Party, Vice Chairman Khalil Ahmad Thand and Human Rights Advocacy President Abdullah Mansoor expressed deep regret over the police’s violent response to peaceful Baloch protesters in Islamabad. They highlighted the irony of such actions occurring in the presence of Baloch Prime Minister and Baloch Chief Justice, questioning whether the Islamabad police and administration are being influenced by anti-national elements. The statement emphasized the undemocratic nature of denying rights to those standing up for them and called for the recovery of missing persons across the country.

Abdullah Mansoor and Khalil Ahmad Thand also commented on the broader socio-political issues in Balochistan, blaming local Sardars and Vaderes for the lack of education, healthcare, employment, and other facilities in the province. They accused these leaders of hindering the development of schools, colleges, hospitals, factories, and roads to maintain their dominance, while living comfortably in luxury residences in Islamabad.

The statement further addressed the serious issue of missing persons, not only in Balochistan but across all four provinces of Pakistan. It identified the problem as widespread, affecting various linguistic groups including Sindhi, Punjabi, Pashto, Baloch, and Urdu speakers. The party leaders called for an end to the oppressive control of jagirdars, wadirs, and wealthy individuals over the country, stating that true improvement in the country’s conditions cannot occur until their influence is diminished.

The Pasban Democratic Party’s statement concluded with a call for the government to act wisely and compassionately towards the oppressed Baloch people, urging the resolution of the missing persons issue and the provision of essential rights and facilities to the residents of Balochistan.
