Islamabad, President Asif Ali Zardari has reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong fraternal ties with Bahrain, emphasizing the need to enhance these relations into a beneficial economic partnership. His remarks came during a meeting with the Commander of the National Guard of Bahrain, General Sheikh Mohammad bin Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, the discussions underscored the shared religious, cultural, and historical connections between the two nations. President Zardari articulated his vision for leveraging these ties to foster economic growth and prosperity, viewing this as pivotal for Pakistan’s future.
The President welcomed the Bahraini Commander, acknowledging the robust state of existing bilateral relations, particularly in defense cooperation. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Bahrain to Pakistan, Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed Abdul Qader, highlighting the diplomatic significance of the engagement.
General Sheikh Mohammad conveyed his congratulations to President Zardari on his reappointment and voiced optimism for Pakistan’s progress under his leadership. He also reiterated Bahrain’s continued support for Pakistan and extended an invitation to President Zardari to visit Bahrain, further solidifying the diplomatic and cooperative bond between the two countries.
