BAHAWALPUR, The Academic Staff Association in conjunction with the Directorate of Student Affairs at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur hosted a rally on the Baghdad Al-Jadeed campus to show solidarity with the Palestinian people and voice disapproval against Israeli actions.
According to Islamia University of Bahawalpur, participants marched with banners and placards denouncing Israeli aggression and standing in unity with Palestine. The gathering witnessed a significant turnout, with numerous university teachers and staff joining. The rally highlighted violations of UN resolutions by Israel, pointing to the casualties of women and children resulting from the aggression. Further emphasis was placed on the pressing need for global and OIC intervention. Notably, the protestors spotlighted the damage to hospitals, deeming such actions as contrary to universally accepted norms. The rally culminated in a collective demand for an immediate ceasefire, the provisioning of essential supplies to Palestine, and an expression of unwavering support from the Islamia University Bahawalpur for the Palestinian community. The rally was addressed by President ASA Prof. Dr. Rao Imran Habib, General Secretary ASA Dr. Muhammad Imran, and others.
