Islamabad Celebrates Muwakhat Day to Emphasize Islamic Brotherhood

Islamabad, Muwakhat Day, initiated by Quaid Millat Jafaria Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi, is being observed today, the 12th of Ramzan Al Kareem, with great reverence and dedication. The day, established by the Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya (TNFJ), features religious ceremonies and gatherings across the city, where scholars, preachers, and orators will shed light on the significant aspect of brotherhood in Islam.

According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, Prof. Habib Baloch, a central figure of TNFJ, articulated in a meeting held on Friday, the universal message of Muwakhat, or brotherhood, which Islam has prominently fostered among its followers. Baloch emphasized that Islam has endowed brotherhood with such universality that it acts as a panacea for the challenges faced by Muslims across ages. He highlighted the historical event on the 12th of Ramadan when the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) exemplified this by pairing migrants from Mecca with the Ansar of Medina, thereby institutionalizing brotherhood as a fundamental tenet of the Muslim community.

This act of Muwakhat not only strengthened the bonds among Muslims but also established the principle that Muslims are to regard each other as brothers, preferring others’ needs over their own, abstaining from oppression, and standing against injustice. Baloch stressed the importance of this day as a reminder for Muslims to earnestly seek forgiveness for their sins and commit to fulfilling the rights owed to Allah and His servants.

Muwakhat Day serves as a reflection on the profound message of brotherhood that is necessary for the salvation of humanity, urging the Muslim community to live by the principles of mutual respect, love, and support. This observance underscores the enduring relevance of Islamic teachings on social cohesion and mutual care among the faithful.
