Karachi, The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) has recently been designated as the National Chapter of the UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network (EE-Net) for Pakistan, setting the stage for a transformative initiative in entrepreneurship education across the country. This appointment entrusts IoBM, particularly through its Shahjehan Syed Karim Incubation Center (SSKIC), with the responsibility of leading the charge in fostering entrepreneurial skills and mindset among the Pakistani youth through various educational programs and activities.
According to Institute of Business Management, this new role aligns with the broader objectives of UNESCO EE-Net, aiming to establish a proactive community of entrepreneurs and educators in the Asia-Pacific region. The partnership is set to embark on a comprehensive agenda, including the organization of workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns, all designed to enhance entrepreneurial education and support the creation of a new generation of innovators and business leaders. These efforts are in direct support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on promoting sustainable economic growth and social progress.
The UNESCO EE-Net’s mission is notably ambitious, seeking not only to promote entrepreneurship education but also to gather insights from successful entrepreneurs for the continuous improvement of educational content and methodologies. IoBM’s national chapter is tasked with preparing and executing a seven-year plan for the EE-Net, stretching from 2024 to 2030. This plan will emphasize the development of tech startups in various verticals, including the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Agri-Tech, Health Tech, Ed-tech, Blockchain, and the Metaverse, showcasing a keen awareness of the leading edges of technological innovation and market needs.
