Islamabad, Females account for just 39.7% of the teaching staff in Pakistani universities. This statistic is part of a broader analysis of the role of female educators across various levels of education in Pakistan, as reported in the ‘Social Indicators of Pakistan 2021’ by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
According to Gallup Pakistan, The report highlighted a positive trend in the growth of the percentage of female teachers at primary, middle, and secondary schools during the decade from 2010 to 2020, with figures rising to 57.3%, 72.8%, and 61.2%, respectively. However, the representation of female teachers at the tertiary level lags, with 25.7% in colleges and 39.7% in universities, indicating a significant disparity in gender representation at the higher levels of educational institutions.
